Shade- MAC describes it as a Bright Pink. However, I would call this shade as a medium pink with blue undertones. It is more towards cooler side than being warmer.

Packaging- It has the same classy black packaging like all permanent line lipsticks from MAC.

Texture & Formula- The texture of MAC Pink Nouveau is smooth and glides on easily on lips. It is creamy. Being a Satin finish, it settles to a semi-mate finish and can be drying for some .I prefer matte finishes so I feel comfortable wearing it. However, it is very important to exfoliate lips and use a lip balm underneath if you have dry lips. It has the same vanilla fragrance reminiscent to all MAC lipsticks.

This is a shade that will look different on different skin tones. It can wash out some skin tones, can look more pink on some and more mauve on some. It accentuates the blue undertone more on darker skin tones. Being a cooler shade, I think this shade is meant more for pink skin tones.

Pigmentation- MAC Pink Nouveau has decent color pay off. One swipe is enough for medium coverage to lips which can be built up to full coverage with a second swipe. It is a great shade for those having pigmented lips.

Staying Power- It comfortably stays for about 4-5 hours on my lips. Though the intensity of the shade fades a bit, it is still visible due to semi matte nature.

Overall Thoughts

I am in love with this shade. I never thought I could wear such shade but it looks great on me. I personally wear this with a smudged blue liner look and light pastel mauve blush.

It is light weight and has decent staying power. The formula is great but not moisturising. I would suggest application of a lip balm underneath and exfoliation of lips as it can accentuate dry flaky lips.

It looks mauve pink on my NC 35 yellow-olive skin tone. I think this shade comes out differently on different skin tones. On darker skin tones, it will intensify the blue undertone more.

Altogether, I am happy to have this and recommend this shade to those who like mauves and pinks and slightly unique shades.
