MAC Nightingale Lip Pencil (Rs 1450)

From the 11 colours that MAC launched in the pencilled in collection, I picked up three, and I am writing about NIGHTINGALE, the one that I thought would love the least, but ended up liking it, way beyond my expectations.

Shade: MAC Nightingale is a really dark vampy burgundy with magenta undertones, its neither too warm, nor too cool in terms of undertone, and is really balanced out, it is such a pretty shade, that would suit almost all skin tones, and if you are like me, the beauty of this weird colour might just mesmerise you, and make you forget your pinks for a moment. Texture: As I told earlier, MAC has finally reformulated the texture of their lip pencils, they are now creamy, and glide on super easily without having to tug or pull on the lips, these don’t settle into the lip lines, and feels non-drying on the lips even after long hours of wear.

Pigmentation – MAC Nightingale is opaque in a single swipe, but it’s not slippery at all, so you have control and precision,  but at the same time its  smooth., but it is advised to try on shades before buying as a few of them are a little dry .

Packaging – The packaging is classic, a wooden pencil plain black, and it is a sharpening pencil, these has  colour coded bottom, even though it’s a wooden pencil and some people might find it fussy , but truth is we get way more product in sharpening pencils than the mechanical ones.

Staying Power- This is the best part, I love how MAC Nightingale lip pencil stays on really long without any uneven fading or drying out my lips, it stayed on for almost  6 hours. Even after the actual lip pencil wore off, the amazing and very strong  stain that it left behind stayed for another hour.

Overall view

It is for the first time in 2 years that I have ever got myself a colour like this, and actually wore and liked it.  I love that being such a dark colour,MAC Nightingale Lip Pencil is non drying . My mom is a fan of this shade,this is one of those shades that would suit all complexions , the application is even and the colour doesn’t look patchy on the lips, I would say that we should rather prep our lips prior to application, as it is a very very matte finish, and might accentuate if you have flaky lips. Other than that, I am amazed on how I have fallen for the colour, just the price I feel is crazy for a lip pencil.
