MAC Modesty Lipstick Review Swatches Photos

MAC Modesty Lipstick (Rs 990 for 3 gm) can be purchased from MAC store.I generally prefer bright shades for myself as nude shades accentuate olive tones of my skin. However, there are times when a nude lip color is really need and I found the best nude shade for me that is Modesty.

Shade – MAC describes Modesty as muted neutral pink and I completely second this description. It is a crème sheen formula providing glossy feel and slight sheen on lips. MAC Modesty Lipstick is sans any shimmer.

Packaging – The packaging is like MAC permanent line lipsticks having a matte black bullet with shade name written at the bottom. It is sturdy and travel friendly.

Texture & Formula – The texture of MAC Modesty Lipstick is amazing. It is creamy and glides on easily. Out of all the finishes, I love crème sheen finish as it keeps the lips soft and hydrated. The formula is great for those having dry lips as it is moisturising. It doesn’t settle in the lip lines neither accentuate dry flaky skin. The lipstick adds glossiness to lips and a healthy sheen. It has vanilla fragrance.

Pigmentation – MAC Modesty Lipstick is one of the nude shades.But it isn’t sheer and gives good coverage to lips. One swipe provides ample coverage which can be built up to full with another. However, the shade will suit fair to wheatish skin more. It fades evenly but doesn’t leave any tint behind.

Staying Power– MAC Modesty stays for about 4-5 hours on my lips. It doesn’t bleed even if over applied and feels light weight.

Overall Thoughts

MAC Modesty Lipstick is by far the best nude shade that suits me. I have tried Patisserie from MAC. Although, it is a great shade but it looked ashy at times. Modesty has the right amount of pink tones. It is definitely a shade that fair and wheatish skin tones can sport easily.

The formula is amazing and feels light. It provides glossy look to lips which makes them appear healthy. It like the fact that MAC Modesty Lipstick is a subtle shade but doesn’t wash out my skin tone. It is very hydrating and moisturising. I like paring this lipstick with smoky looks as well as for natural looks. It is decently pigmented and stays for about 4-5 hours.

One possible drugstore dupe for this shade is Maybelline color sensational lipstick Totally Toffee (215).
