MAC Love Goddess Lipstick Review – Marilyn Monroe Collection

MAC Love Goddess Lipstick (Rs 1050) Marilyn Monroe Collection (LE)MAC Love Goddess Lipstick (2)MAC Love Goddess Lipstick (4)MAC released these Limited Edition Marilyn Monroe collection lipsticks last year and the brand is thinking of re-launching them this year as well. A bold assortment of colors, the range boasted of some bright reds and oranges, and I loved them. Love Goddess is a gorgeous shade of raspberry red, creamy and satiny, perfect on virtually any girl who can carry it off. Which, if I may say so, most people can.

Packaging : The packaging is unique. The outer cover has Marilyn’s black and white picture on it, with the diva’s signature and MAC written in red. Open it, and you would find a glossy package naming the shade and the lipstick type (satin in this case), and inside there is a glossy lipstick bullet with Marilyn’s photo and the red signature repeated. This makes the packaging pretty much a must-have for any Monroe lover. It is very travel-friendly and can be carried anywhere without a fear of the lipstick opening. MAC Love Goddess Lipstick (3)Color and Texture: The color is a bold raspberry red shade which is very flattering on anyone intent on pulling off a nice color. It is creamy and pretty hydrating, and you would not feel any tugging or pulling on your lips while applying. The application is simple – you need to just swipe once and you get great color payoff. I generally line my lips with a nude liner to avoid accidental bleeding of the color, but it is not necessary. The color can be also worn as a very flattering stain. It does transfer slightly, so be careful about that part. MAC Love Goddess Lipstick (5)

Lasting Power: I have seen that this color has a good staying power, at least 6 hours if you leave it undisturbed, and leaves a very flattering pink stain on your lips. I personally love that, and sometimes wear this just as a stain. However, it does make your lips slightly dry when applied as a stain, so applying a nice balm underneath is suggested, as well as exfoliation before application.

Pros:

  1. Lovely packaging
  2. Great shade
  3. Does not bleed or flake
  4. Hydrating
  5. Lasts a good period of time

Cons:

  1. Transfers

Overall Thoughts

MAC should make these colors permanent. Especially Love Goddess, because the color is absolutely unique and gorgeous to look at, and would suit Indian skin tones perfectly.
