I am loving nude lip colour and hoarding all possible shades these days. This one is the latest addition to my vanity. This shade is great for everyday and Office wear.
Shade – MAC Hug Me is described as a flesh pink shade. On me, it is more of a neutral pink with very light brown undertone. The shade can be an MLBB shade for many. It is sans any shimmer but very glossy.
Packaging – MAC Hug Me has standard packaging like MAC’s permanent line lipstick with matte black casing and shade name and finish at the bottom. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.
Texture & Formula- The texture of the lipstick is smooth and glides on easily. It is lustre finish which his very hydrating and adds glossiness to lips. The formula is great for those having dry lips as it feels comfortable, is light weight and moisturising. It doesn’t settle in the lip lines. The lipstick has vanilla fragrance that is reminiscent to all MAC lipsticks.
Pigmentation- MAC Hug Me lipstick is sheer in a single coat but buildable to medium coverage. However it cannot cover major pigmentation on lips as the shade is light and the formula is sheer. It adds glossiness which makes the lips appear healthy.
Staying Power- MAC Hug Me stays for about 2 ½-3 hours maximum as it is a light shade and the formula is lustre.
Overall Thoughts
MAC Hug Me is a gorgeous MLB shade of pink that will suit fair to medium ski tones more. It might come out sheer on dusky tones as the shade is light. On my NC 35 skin tone, it is a great every day wear shade and compliments natural as well as heavy makeup well. The formula is amazing. The lipstick is light weight and comfortable. I have got dry, chapped lips these days but this lipstick provides lot of hydration and I don’t have to wear a lip balm underneath.
The texture is amazing and it adds a healthy glossy sheen to lips which makes the face not-so dull. However, the staying power is low but lustre finish formula generally has low staying power. Hug Me provides sheer to medium coverage. So, those having pigmented lips can apply a nude lip liner underneath and top it up with the lipstick
