MAC Fluidline Midnight Blues (Rs 1000 for 3 gm) part of Mac Me Over collection
A word on Fluidline from MAC:
‘Ultra-smooth, Fluidline’s gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a silkier, softer finish. Goes on “foolproof” with a brush in an easy dip-and-stroke action.Long-wearing.Smudge-proof.Lines up in a rich array of colours and finishes. Brush sold separately.’
Shade – Mac describes Midnight Blues as a Blackened Blue but for me it is more of a dark navy blue with subtle silver shimmer. It has a bit of teal effect in it which makes the shades really unique.
Packaging – MAC Fluidline Midnight Blues has a small round glass pot packaging like gel liners. It is sturdy though prone to breakage.
Texture & Formula – The texture of MAC Fluidline Midnight Blues is very smooth the consistency is like a ‘soufflé’ .It is very creamy and glides on easily. The shimmer present is very minute and non-gritty. It did not irritate my eyes.
The shimmer adds slight sheen to the liner on application so it doesn’t look completely matte. It dries very quickly avoiding any mess. The formula is great. It is completely water proof and smudge proof. Once set, it doesn’t crease or fade.
Pigmentation – Midnight Blues is decently pigmented and one swipe imparts enough shade which can be further built up. It doesn’t look cakey or flake on over application.
Staying Power – The fluid line stays as long as I wear it. I have worn this for almost 9- 10 hours and it looked fresh till that time and I am sure it can stay for at least 2-3 hours more.
Ease of Application – MAC Fluidline Midnight Blues applies easily with a gel liner brush or a slanted tip brush for a winged effect.
Overall Thoughts
MAC fluid line Midnight Blues is a gorgeous dark navy blue with a hint of teal which makes it a very interesting shade. It will suit all skin tones. The formula is creamy and glides on easily. The shade itself is decently pigmented the staying power is excellent.
I have used this as an eye shadow and eye shadow base as well and it works well in all cases. The shimmer present is very subtle.
One caution that has to be taken while storing these fluid lines is to keep them upside down. This way, they remain soft and creamy and don’t dry up.
