MAC Expensive Pink Eye Shadow (Rs 990 for 1.3 g) available at MAC stores across India
The shades I’m sharing these days are MAC’s cult classic and needs no introduction. However If you are someone who is building up the collection and find the new pricing everywhere , I request you to check a quad from CHANEL and GUERLAIN as they cost pretty much same if you see carefully . MAC 4 refills would be somewhere 3800/- INR and a cost of newly launched CHANEL Quad with awesome quality is also more or less same. This is just info; I’m not against any brand or promote any – A wise calculation it is.
Shade – Expensive Pink is described as Pink with duo chrome, it is warm toned peachy pink shade with super fine golden pearly sheen to it. The colour is gorgeous and is true to pan when applied on lids. I find this shade very flattering on olive skin tone and hence you can see a lot in our daily soap a lot – I am a hard core fan of such looks, TBH. This color reminds me a bit of Wet n Wild Penny Eyeshadow a bit, however later is pinker than expensive pink
Texture – The eye shadow is from MAC’s Veluxe Pearl finish, it has finally milled super smooth buttery texture with super fine shimmer which makes it look frosty at some angle but it is more of a pearly sheen then frosty, a foiled finish I would say.
Pigmentation – MAC Expensive Pink is beautifully pigmented and is opaque in 1 or 2 swipes easily, use a flat brush else there will be fall out due to shimmer.
Staying power – With a primer underneath a shade like this manage to stay 6 – 7 hrs and fades a little , I have oily lids and if you are someone with dry lids will see this stay a little too long .
Useful for – Expensive Pink is apt for inner corners and for lids and is easy to incorporate with pinks, orange and browns. I have two pictures for you – one how it looks on the lids and then second when paired with colours like – Brown Script and Coppering.
Overall Thought
MAC Expensive Pink is very famous colour and hardly needs any introduction, the duo chrome shimmer is hard to dupe in any brand but INGLOT may have some dupes at good quality also. A price tag of 990/- INR is still unbelievable to me and I’m not able to digest the fact that it is at par with pallets from other brands like I mentioned above.
