Come fall and I just need two things with me no matter what – a dark lipstick and a good highlighter . Where I’m content with number of highlighters in my stash , am still looking for THAT Perfect deep dark vampy lipstick which is not over the top and is easy to carry . My all time favourite shade is MAC Rebel Lipstick as it has pink tones to it , which makes it easy to use in day time as well .

All premium brands are launching their fall collection and you can see vampy, burgundy fall lips from now onwards everywhere. The shade am sharing today is not a new launch but a very famous one from MAC’s permanent line – Dark Side.

Shade – MAC Dark Side is described as Deep Burgundy, it is cool toned burgundy reddish wine shade with soft luminous sheen to it and is very flattering on medium to dark skin tone easily , without much efforts; just needs courage, that’s all!

Texture and Formula – The amplified cream formula is creamy and glides easily but do feel heavy on lips if you layer it and if the lips are not exfoliated properly MAC Dark Side may tend to settle down due to darker hue , I like the formula but prefer MAC ‘s matte and satin over this one .Pigmentation – MAC Dark Side has nice pigmentation and is opaque in two swipes covering every bit of corners with ease and sits nicely without bleeding or feathering.

Staying power – I get 4 plus hours of wear with this and then it stains my lips with soft reddish berry tint which again stays for an hour or two.

Overall Thoughts

The colour is little vampy and is hard to carry in day time but if you are looking something FALL APPROPRITE then this may impress you , MAC Dark Side is not drying nor super moisturising and comes with good staying power too .
