MAC Coppertone Matte Powder Blush Review Swatches Photos

I guess, whenever we more forth from drugstore to high end brands in India, the first brand we all look into is MAC. At least I did. When I went into a MAC store the first time I was so green, I didn’t know what I needed, what primers were, which are the types of blushes, how to match my foundation, nothing really. I learnt all that slowly after a lot of mistakes. After collecting loads of knowledge and doing lots of research I understood a lot about MAC products. I went to the MAC store to buy a peach toned blush, by now I was quite familiar with the brand. Tried a few, didn’t really like any, till I came across MAC Coppertone Matte Powder Blush. It was not completely peach, not completely brown and I felt it was perfect, so I just grabbed this.

Packaging – Comes in the signature MAC packaging. A black compact with a transparent lid which allows you to see the shade inside and has the MAC logo printed on top. Typical MAC packaging. Sturdy, travel friendly and quite light weight.

Shade – MAC Coppertone Matte Powder Blush is described as Peach Brown with matte finish on the MAC website, which I completely agree. MAC Coppertone is a peachy/muted orange shade with brown undertones. It has a matte finish. It looks dull on the pan, but applies beautifully on the skin giving it a natural peachy glow when applied with a light hand. Some people use it for contouring also, but I find it too orangey for that. But, I do skip the bronzer when I apply this blush, as I feel it’s enough in itself. I feel it is a perfect shade for Indian skin tones.

Texture – Though it is a matte powder blush, the texture is not powdery or chalky. It is buttery and finely milled. It glides on easily on to the skin and blends easily.  It has a smooth texture and applies evenly on to the skin. It sits beautifully on the skin and doesn’t look streaky or blotchy.  It has a pleasant fragrance which is very light and doesn’t stay for too long.

Pigmentation – It is a very pigmented blush. With a first application itself the shade comes through on your cheeks easily. You need a very little amount on a fluffy blush brush and you need to apply it with a light hand for a natural finish. You can build it up with a light hand for a darker finish. But, I feel a light finish brings out the best of this blush on your cheeks.

Staying Power – MAC Coppertone Blush easily stays on, on my cheeks for 8 hours. After which it gradually fades. But it doesn’t fade unevenly. I am quite satisfied with the staying time. I hardly wear makeup for more than that.

Overall Thoughts

MAC Coppertone powder blush is a finely milled, soft blush which has a matte finish. It is easy to apply and blends evenly on to the skin. The peachy brown shade of the blush serves as a blush and bronzer both. You need a very little amount of blush per use and you can easily build it up if you need. It is a perfect shade for Indian Skin tone. I would definitely recommend this brush for people who love peach toned blushes.

Rating – 4.5/5 (- .5 for the ever increasing price)
