MAC Chatterbox Lipstick Review Swatches Photos

MAC Chatterbox lipstick (Rs 900 for 0.10 oz) available at MAC stores.MAC Chatterbox Lipstick review swatches (3)MAC Chatterbox Lipstick review swatches (2)It is an amplified crème finish lipstick that I am really fond of.

Shade – MAC describes Chatterbox as ‘bright red pink’ but for me it is more of a perky pink with slight blue undertones. It will come out differently on different skin tones. I think this shade will suit fair to medium skin tones more as it will accentuate the yellow-peach undertones on dusky skins which may ashy. The shade has a slight neon touch to it. It leans more towards cooler tones than being warmer. On lips, the blue undertone is not much prominent.

Packaging – The packaging is like standard MAC lipsticks with black casing which is sturdy. The shade name and finish are provided at the bottom.

Texture & Formula – The texture is smooth and the lipstick glides on easily on lips.It is creamy but a bit drying after few hours of application. The formula feels light on lips .The lipstick settles to a matte finish after few hours of application. However, it settles into lip lines and accentuates flaky skin so exfoliation is a must prior its application.

It has vanilla fragrance that is there in all MAC lipsticks.MAC Chatterbox Lipstick review swatches (4)

Pigmentation – MAC Chatterbox Lipstick is highly pigmented and one swipe is all that is needed for full coverage. It is a great shade for those who have pigmented lips. Also, it leaves a mild stain on lips after it wears off.

Staying power – Chatterbox stays for about 5-6 hours on my lips leaving a pink stain. It is on the creamier side during initial application so over application can lead to lipstick bleeding.

Overall Thoughts

MAC Chatterbox Lipstick is one of my favourite lip color and I love applying this as it is bright yet wearable with any look. The shade will suit fair to medium skin tones more. It is highly pigmented and the finish is great. It is light weight and settles to matte finish after few hours. The lipcolor is not very moisturising and I suggest a swipe of lip balm underneath for those who have very dry lips.

The staying power is decent but it is bit drying and can accentuate flaky lips. Also, over application can lead to lipstick bleeding as it is an amplified crème formula.

One possible dupe for this shade is NYX Fig that looks similar on lips.

Rating – 4/5

This is a shade that I’ve been meaning to get for such a long time! But based on your review, I probably won’t.. since I have a medium-tan skintone and VERY yellow undertones.

    Great post 🙂 Super informative!
