Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse SPF 20 Review

With the sun shining bright on head, hardly any makeup stays on for a long time. I love cream based makeup products because of my dry skin but during warmer months I prefer mousse formulas. These formulas are meant for combination – oily skin and offer matte finish with super light weight texture. I have recently got my hands on the newly launched Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse and have been testing it out for almost 2 weeks now. Let’s see how my experience has been so far –

Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse SPF 20 (Rs 675)

Packaging of Super Finish Mousse is simple. It comes in a glass round pot with a rose-gold lid. It is small and convenient to carry. However some may find it unhygienic to dip in their fingers to take out the product. I will highly recommend using a plastic spatula or q-tip to scoop out the product.

Shade – Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse is available in 3 shades. I have got the medium one which is – Bright Angle. It has yellow undertones , hence blends into the skin without leaving grey film on the skin. The shade is a bit light for me, however I make it work with a little bronzer on the perimeters of my face.

Texture & Formula – Like the name suggest, its a mousse formula. The texture is fluffy & airy, like a mousse foundation. It spreads and blends into the skin almost immediately. I really enjoy the light weight texture of the product. It is a blessing to have such a product handy in such a hot sweaty weather.

Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse offers matte finish and keeps skin shine free for a long time. I would recommend using a good moisturiser as base if you have dry skin, otherwise it will cling on to the dry patches.

The mousse comes with a SPF of 20 which is always a plus when it comes to base makeup products.

Coverage – I would call it a light-medium coverage product. You can build it up and it works on blemishes to a great extent. However if you have blemishes to cover then an additional concealer would be required.

Staying Power – On me it stays on for good 5-6 hours without turning patchy. Also it doesn’t let my T-zone become shiny. Also the formula hasn’t broken me out.

Only con is the fact that it would highlight dry patches on the skin. One needs to moisturise skin nicely before applying it.

Overall Thoughts

Lotus Ecostay Super Finish Mousse is a great product for girls with combination – oily skin. I like its light weight smooth texture and how easy it is to blend. The coverage is light to medium making it perfect for daily use. The spf 20 factor is always a plus.
