Here’s my take on L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Advanced Repairing Shampoo. I was suffering from bad hair fall for years. Recently I found out dirty scalp causes lots and lots of hairfall. I started washing my hair frequently and you know what?
There has been a noticable difference in my hair fall rate within 4-5 months. These days I am using up shampoos quite frequently. L’Oreal shampoos have worked for me in the past so I bought L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Advanced Repairing Shampoo this time.
My hair is oily at the scalp but dry at the ends. I don’t use heat tools on my hair. I don’t cut my hair frequently so my hair ends have gone damaged to some extent. Read on to know how this shampoo performs on my hair.

Packaging: This shampoo comes in a white plastic bottle. The tall bottle looks quite chic in your shower. The sturdy plastic body and the tight plastic cap secures the product nicesly. I have used quite a few of these bottles.
If you drop them on hard floor their cap breaks. So, you need to stay careful while using it. L’Oreal’s Total Repair 5 range is colour coded with white and red. The packaging too uses these two colours. The complete ingredients list is there on the back of the bottle.
Colour & Consistency: The shampoo is pearly white in colour and its texture is medium. It does not have runny consistency. The shampoo creates rich creamy lather. It takes off the oil and dirt in 1-2 washes.
The shampoo is not free from sulfates and silicones but it does not contain parabens as preservatives. This shampoo is suitable for all hair types. 
Fragrance: The entire Total Repair 5 range of L’Oreal smells very similar. It’s their signature soothing floral fragrance that makes my hair smell fresh the entire day. The fragrance replaces the oily sweaty odour of my hair.
Quantity & Price: L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Advanced Repairing Shampoo sells at Rs.135 for 175ml. Right now L’Oreal is running a ‘10% more’ offer so my bottle contains 192.5ml product. This is a bestseller product from L’Oreal.
I bought the medium size. Other than this, it is also available in 75ml, 396ml and 640ml sizes. This budget-friendly hair wash is available widely. You can get good discounts online.
My Overall Thoughts:
L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Advanced Repairing Shampoo is one of the most appreciated shampoo in their entire hair care range. It is designed for damaged hair that suffers from pollution related damage, chemical or heat treatment damages.
Though the brand boasts its intense damage repair capabilities, this is basically a milder shampoo for those who likes to wash their hair frequently. The formula does cleanse the hair and scalp but it won’t remove any dandruff or itching. It is not meant for such scalp issues so it is not a con. Coming to the performance, it makes your hair feel clean without drying.
I have quite frizzy hair; this shampoo works for my hair type. After washing, my hair does not feel too dry still I have to use a good quality conditioner. I use conditioner from same range. I also use the serum from this Total Repair 5 range. The shampoo alone can’t control frizziness but combining products from the same range helps.
I could see no change in my hair fall rate but lesser split ends over time. If you have oiled your hair, 2 washes are must. Otherwise the hair feels limp to some extent. Overall, this is a good shampoo for all hair types if you don’t pay much attention to the tall claims.
