My first ever makeup product was from loreal 2 years back, one of their glam shine lip glosses, but being a person having long curly frizzy hair, that gloss use to attract all of them to my lips making all of this a hot mess, that made me a no gloss person at all, and I gravitated towards the matte lip, but when the SA persuaded me to really try this , and boy was I amazed, a gloss that’s non sticky, not gloopy, not thick, doesn’t attract all my hair to my lips, and isn’t over the top shiny, and yes I grabbed the golden beauty and ran back home , drooling over this nude beauty.

Shade: L’Oreal Rose Melody is a soft pink that’s not pastel, it is as perfect a nude colour for me as nude can be, with my warm skin undertone, it has kind of been a big deal to find a pinkish nude that doesn’t wash me out, but with rose melody, everything seems perfect. Check out previously reviewed shade Rose Symphony as well.

Texture & Pigmentation: The oil-based formula is packed with pigment, so it feels super moisturizing but also delivers great colour. I found the application to be quite easy because the soft, leaf-shaped applicator can be used to precisely line lips while the wide side fills them in quickly.

The texture is so silky and smooth and stayed on nicely without smudging or bleeding with wear. I found these glosses really easy-to-wear; they’re super creamy and definitely made my lips feel soft! The quality of pigment was pretty consistent across the board.

Packaging: L’Oréal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Color are housed in a pretty gold shiny packaging, that are reflective, but certainly aren’t made of cheap plastic, they seem pretty sturdy and travel friendly , comes with a small applicator, that are good for  my thin lips, as some of the gloss applicators tend to deposit the product outside my lip area too. These glosses come with a good stopper that takes off excess product from the applicator so that it doesn’t form a gloop on the lips, but just the perfect amount.L’Oreal Rose Melody Lip Extraordinaire Review Swatches Photos (1)

Staying Power: Rose Melody stays somewhere around 3 hours, and don’t really expect a gloss that’s not too sticky to stay any longer.

Overall Thoughts

Although the colour isn’t too long-lasting, I didn’t mind because the buttery-smooth gloss feels so good to re-apply!

L’Oreal Rose Melody goes on well and is buildable for different levels of intensity. There isn’t much scent to these but there is a slight hint of sweetness that I like! The quality of pigment was pretty consistent across the board. The darker shades did take a bit more effort (they sometimes looked a bit patchy at first) than the lighter ones but rich colour was easy to achieve with a bit more blending in. These lip glosses are great if you love rich colour yet sheer coverage and want some decent shine. The texture is perfect for those who prefer a non sticky, creamy gloss and want to add a little extra moisture to the lips. The price for a drugstore seems a little too overboard, but that is something the product is marketed with, texture being very similar to the Maybelline lip polishes, the 3 new shades that have been launched, picked up a nude from that collection too, hope to share about it soon.
