Loreal Paris Nail Color Orange You Jealous (109), Because You’re Worth It (580) Review

Loreal launched this palette of nail paints recently with interesting colour choices in it. The luxe bottle caught my attention but I was reluctant to buy because 11.7ml of product is too much for me. I can get bored of a single colour on my nails very easily and thus stay away from polishes that come in buckets! However Loreal Paris Nail Color 109 Orange You Jealous? caught my eyes while I was doing some digging on the internet. Soon I started dreaming of that colour and thus couldn’t stay away from it any longer! My mother loved the other colour, 580 Because You’re Worth It, which is a golden shade and urged on it. I ended up buying two buckets of polishes, therefore!

Packaging: Loreal Paris Nail Color comes in cubical bottles with round gold matte caps. The accents on the bottle are in gold as well and the overall packaging looks luxurious and classy. The brush is good quality with concave tips that makes the application process much easier.

Shades:

Orange You Jealous (109) is not a proper orange in the first place. It is a milky peach colour with pink undertones. No shimmers, no frost, plain crème polish it is. Humid summers make go me dizzy and my only relief is by indulging in nail paints.  I will admit I am quite a snob for nail polishes and this beautiful pinky-orange-peach is acting as my coolant now. It is such a beautiful shade that I am head over heels on it. It is suitable for fair complexions and can look neonish on deeper complexions.

Because You’re Worth It (580). Yes I am! :p  This polish is a frosty antique gold with extra tiny iridescent shimmers. It is in metallic finish and is a very sophisticated shade. There is a slight hint of brown to it which will be more obvious on very fair hands. In broad daylight it looks pale golden but indoors, the golden undertones pop up. All in all it is not a jewel gold shade but is more on the lighter and antique gold side. I quite love it and I have it on my nails right now. It is suitable for every complexion out there and is also safe for work. My mother lost her speech for a while when she saw the shade as she is a sucker for golden polishes. You are definitely worth such an ah-mazing shade!

The colours in the photos are near about accurate and since 109 is a difficult shade I have included both mine and my mother’s nail swatch.

Texture: The formula of Loreal Paris Nail Color is a cross between jelly and crème or crelly if you may. 109 is thicker in consistency than 580. Both are non streaky, however 109 requires more precision as it can get streaky sometimes. It is also difficult to work with as compared to 580. Two coats are required for full opacity and the drying time is quick however 109 being a little thicker takes more time. Both are quite glossy but again 580 is shinier than 109; maybe because of the shimmers, but it is better in all terms than its ally.

Overall Thoughts

I love Loreal Paris Nail Color for the unique shades. I am a little disappointed with 109 as the formula is not of a 300 INR polish. 580 stays put on my hands for about 5-6 days. On the 4th day I see a minor tip wear. 109 stays for 4 days and on 2nd day itself the tips wear badly. I am an active person and I also have a habit of washing my hands as I have pets at home. Nevertheless you can go ahead and try few shades from this range; the colours are drool-worthy. Violet Vixen, Butterfly Kisses, Not a Cloud in Sight, Mauvelous, Tangerine Crush, and Spice Things Up are some beautiful shades that you may go for. A top coat may fix the staying power issue for the problematic formulae.
