Lakme India Fashion Week – Lakme Absolute Salon and Makeover 

I had a wonderful opportunity today to be a part of Lakme India Fashion Week at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai.  Apart from the celebrated designers showcased at this prestigious event, there is a lot of other stuff going on.  This was my first time visiting and I absolutely loved the buzz and the energy all around.

Lakme has a full fledged salon right near the main show area.  The new Lakme Absolute ranges are showcased and you can get your nails done, get a complete makeover with a Lakme makeup artist and even get your hair done.  Guess what?  I got all three done!

My makeover was done by the super professional and extremely friendly Nisha Sablok.  She used Lakme concelear on my under eyes to cover the circles, and a bit on my laugh lines. She then preped my face with the Lakme Absolute foundation.  I was really surprised how well the colour matched my skin tone.  It was perfect.  A little smoky eye done using a grey Lakme Absolute eye pencil and finished off with a cat eye.

The entire session was so much fun and I got to learn a lot. I normally tend to shy away from a very bold eye because I feel they will accentuate my deep set eyes, but the grey with shimmer really was a great look.

I also avoid using concealer on anything apart from my under eye.  I realised how much of a difference using this on the laugh lines made to my overall look. To round up the makeover Jayshree from the Salon used some hair serums and sprays to enhance my curls and give a more defined look.

So after a full makeover and freshly painted silver nails, I was all set to watch the designers showcase their work.

Overall Thoughts

I loved a number of the products Nisha used.  I will definitely be buying the concealer, foundation and eyeshadow pencil.  It amazes me how much you can take away from a short 20 minute session.
