Lakme CC Cream (Rs 250 for 30 ml) available at Violetbag.comLakmé CC Cream is designed for the modern woman who needs to look her best at all times. A hectic schedule can usually leave you with little time to look after your skin. But, with Lakmé CC cream you can get instantly styled skin, every day.
Lakme CC Cream , where full form of ‘CC’ is Complexion Care, comes in two shades – Beige & Bronze. I will be reviewing Bronze shade here.Packaging – I liked the packaging, it gives a luxurious feel. Lakme CC Cream comes in a golden beige tube with a silver cap. Nothing about it is flimsy ! Tube is quite big and quantity is quite good when compared to the price.
Shade – Bronze has yellow tones and would suit medium skin tones. The shade can be a bit light for deeper complexions. Texture & Formula – I found Lakme CC cream light weight. The formula spreads and blends easily. Though I have read some people saying that it takes time, It needs some blending and its gone ! I found that quite effortless. I somewhat disliked the feel of some BB creams where formula seems to be sitting on the top of skin like a film, making it impossible to breath. Lakme CC cream just blends and absorbs seamlessly.
Formula is quite moisturizing so I skip wearing a moisturizer underneath. These days my skin is behaving well so after applying Lakme CC Cream I see an evenness with no dry patches. However I would always recommend exfoliating face before applying foundations/ Tinted moisturizer or such formulas as they might cling on to dry patches.
It gives a dewy finish. Some people like me may not want that dewy finish that turns bit shiny after sometime, I prefer to dab powder over it. Though after sometime, maybe 2-3 hours I can see my nose shining through !
Lakme CC cream has SPF 20, which is again a plus since not many of us love to layer skin in this hot humid weather.
I am glad that Lakme CC cream doesn’t make tall claims of improving skin texture or making you fairer over the period of time. As per Lakme it’s a mix of moisturizer & makeup , which I find quite true !Coverage – It gives quite good coverage. True to its claims it evens out skin tone, freshens up and gives a healthy glow. Though if you have blemishes or heavy discoloration, it may not hide/ conceal them. It covers shadows (not dark circles) under my eyes quite well.
Staying Power – It stays on for good 5-6 hours. It looks quite obvious just after application, give it some time to set, once its set the finish looks really natural. I sweat a lot around my nose and mouth so it rubs off from those areas pretty fast.
Here is my before and after picture, I haven’t used anything except a lip gloss (No concealer no powder)Overall Thoughts
A good product which does what it claims. It moisturises, Brightens, evens skin tone & Freshens. It has minty scent which I like, it gives slight cooling sensation initially which subsides after 5-15 minutes. I am seeing myself using it more than any recent BB creams because I find the formula pretty light, blendable and perfect for current hot weather. The negative points would be Shades – Only two shades, that may or may not suit everyone. And dewy finish , which might turn shiny on combination – oily skins. Also it does provides coverage but doesn’t conceal blemishes.
