Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolor in Wine Play (Rs 400 for 3.6 gm)Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolor in Wine Play is part of Lakmé 9 to 5 The Office Stylist Range. These Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolors come in 15 shades. To be honest I had a tough time picking a shade. All the shades were too off, I mean there was a flood of brown based shades, nudes, reddish brown, pinkish brown.. And I am not at all fan of Browns.. I know this range is meant for Office Goers but then what if not all of them are fan of such shades, I would love to wear a soft pink shade to office rather than a brownish nude which washes me out !

Shade – Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolor in Wine Play is a true wine color. It doesn’t look good on my medium skin tone and makes me look dull and dark. Its a shade that would suit mature / elderly women. I somehow always felt that Lakme targets Elderly women (Except their pop tints range). Packaging – I liked the packaging. Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolor comes in Rose Gold metal casing with “Lakme 9 to 5 ” printed on the lower part. It opens and closes easily.

Texture & Formula – The texture of Wine Play is semi matte. So its good for office goers who don’t want everyone noticing their glossy pouts. It glides on easily without tugging or pulling. Though someone with dry lips like mine may find the formula not so comfortable to carry. Due to its semi matte texture it doesn’t bleed and stays on longer. Pigmentation – The formula is superbly pigmented and gives opaque finish in one swipe. So if you have dark pigmented lips, Lakme 9 to 5 lipcolor wouldn’t disappoint you !

Staying Power – It does stay on for good 6-7 hours. It kind-of dries out lips after 1 hour or so. It does transfer to cups etc a bit initially. But keeping in mind that this range is designed for office goers, it does perform well in this category. Like all long wearing lipstick the formula does feel a little dry after sometime.

Overall Thoughts

This one range didn’t excite me and after looking at the available shades, I don’t have anything else to say. You can buy these for their semi matte finishes or if you love nude shades. These lip colors are affordable and have 15 shades to choose from. I am not sure how the shades available would fair on medium to dusky skin tones. The formula is not unpleasant and stays on for good 6-7 hours without bleeding. But if you have dry lips with fine lips, moisturize your lips before and put a lip gloss on the top.
