I’ve been quite lucky to have been blessed with reasonably good skin 🙂 However every once in a while I land up with a few really painful and horrible looking pimples – they take forever to go and then there is this ugly unsightly mark that stays as a reminder. Unless I use something specifically targeted at clearing my skin, the mark stays on and fades away, ever so slowly. This time I had a minor breakout I decided to get some focused assistance early on. Now I absolutely agree that  1300 for a 40ml tube is expensive – but then I had to know how well La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + would work. If it took away the pimples and left behind no marks then it would be ever so worth it.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo is indicated for imperfection prone skin, clogged proes and excess sebum. I have now been using this for over 2 weeks even though the product details mention that you need to use this for 4 weeks to see marked difference.
Texture – La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ has a gel like hybrid consistency that sinks in immediately. In fact I would say this sinks in much much faster than any of the other skincare that I have been using. It doesn’t feel sticky or tacky at all. In fact after a couple of hours I needed some moisturizer as my skin was feeling like there was nothing on it at all.
I have normal to oily skin that tends to get a little dry in the winter. I normally am ok with a single skin care product, however in this case I felt I needed to layer something on after a few hours. If your skin is oily however, you should be absolutely ok with just this.
My Experience
I found that the pimples were drying up faster than normal and though there were a few light marks these were fading relatively quicker than normal. The most impressive was the fact that the pimples did not get painful – yes they hurt less and kind of vanished in a day and an a half – unlike earlier when they used to stay on for 3 to 4 days.
The bit about unclogging pores was a little more difficult to observe. Very honestly I really cant find much of a difference however long and hard I try to stare at my pores in a mirror. I am sure there will be some clarity if viewed under proper light – however to the lay person there is not much difference.
Overall my skin feels and looks clearer. I actually got a few compliments with people saying that I looked like I had just returned from a relaxing vacation. So this must be doing something right after all.
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ (Rs 1300 for 40ml)
Overall Thoughts
If you have skin imperfections or marks then La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo is clearly the way to go. I found a difference in relatively ok skin, so if you have chronic issues I cannot recommend this enough. I found a noticiable difference in just 2 weeks.Â
