La Roche Posay Biomedic Pigment Control Serum Review

La Roche Posay Biomedic Pigment Control Serum (Rs 1850 for 30 ml) available at VioletbagLa roche posay biomedic pigment control serumIf you have read my Uneven skintone treatment series you would know how much I have done for my skin to make it look better. After at-home-peels my skin looked lot more even than before but I still have darkness around my mouth that isn’t much visible in pictures but I can see it. I have heard a lot about La Roche Posay Biomedic Pigment Control Serum and since it has all the right ingredients like Kojic acid & Glycol, I decided to give it a shot.

What is La Roche Posay Biomedic Pigment Control Serum-

Pigment Control Serum Biomedic La Roche Posay is indicated by pre-or post-cosmetic surgery, to correct and fade dark spots and discolorations, and the lack of homogeneity of the complexion.

  • This combination of assets and a dermobiotic spa exfoliates skin cells responsible for melanin and acts at the source of the training spots.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness for 2 weeks: spot correction of 28%, more radiant than 36%.

Every La Roche-Posay product contain La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, a truly active dermatological ingredient. Sourced from a spring in the centre of France, La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water is exceptionally rich in anti-oxidant Selenium. It has soothing, softening and anti-irritating properties and it is renowned for its dermatological efficacy. It is the only water used in the products to maximise their efficacyxion.

My Experience

As per the directions I tested the product on my arm for 24 hours before applying it on my face. I didn’t observe any irritation or allergy.

I used it on my face next night and realised some unnoticeable bumps on the right side of my face. I decided to stop using products with saliycylic acid and scrubs. Next night after application I saw that the irritation had reduced a lot.

Usage

I watched La Roche Posay Videos on youtube and saw that the person in those videos (from the brand itself) advised using 3-4 drops of serum on face after cleansing but on the back of serum packaging its written that one needs to use one full pump,  now that was very confusing. I decided to use 4-5 drops of serum since one full pump looked too much to me. Serum is a bit thick so 4-5 drops were enough to cover face and neck. Every morning I applied Lotus SPF 50 gel sunscreen after moisturizing my face even when I stayed indoors.

1st week – 10 days-

That slight irritation didn’t go away completely but I started seeing noticeable changes in my skin. My face started to look bright and lot more even toned, please note “Bright” doesn’t mean “Fair”, it means more radiant skin. Acne scars and pigmentation marks were still there but evenness of skin caught my attention. So I decided to keep using it with Clinique DDML moisturizer in the night.

What happened next –

Irritation/ small bumps/ allergy minimised but they were still visible to me. One night immediately after application of serum, I saw numerous small bumps/ allergy on my forehead and I realized that I should just throw the stuff away even though it did what it claimed.

Overall Thoughts

So my advise for people with very sensitive skin type is that this product has worked for lots of people but it might not work for them. I am really sad that it broke me out otherwise the way I was seeing improvement in my skintone, I would never had stopped using it. I bought this stuff only after reading numerous reviews and none of them had mentioned any allergic reaction, so I can’t really say if this would be the case with everyone.
