Kryolan has an amazing range of glitters and pigments. I have a few of these and I am reviewing a favorite shade of the pigment called Kryolan Satin Powder today.
Shade – Kryolan pigments come in two variants, one is the satin powder and the other is HD range. The satin powders are numbered and I am reviewing SP561 today. It is a beautiful deep cranberry color, very similar to MAC Cranberry eyeshadow.
Packaging – The powder comes in a transparent tiny round tub. The packaging is good and saves you from spilling it all over as it has a tiny hole in it that lets you take out how much you want.
For the price, the quantity you get is definitely huge and would last you many years.
Pigmentation – Kryolan Satin Powder SP561 is highly pigmented and you need really less amount for each use. It can be applied with fingers and brushes. I usually use a flat eyeshadow brush, press and then swipe. It can also be used as an eyeliner by mixing with a mixing medium like Inglot duraline.
I have seen bridal makeup artists mixing it along with lipsticks also.
Texture & Formula – Kryolan Satin Powder SP561 is very soft and non gritty. It applies and blends evenly with fingers as well as brushes. One has to be careful while using pigments as it can cause a mess but once you know the trick like keeping a tissue paper under your eye and doing the eyes first.
Clean up the mess and then do the face, pigments are more economical and also last you a lot time compared to the eyeshadows. These are multi purpose products and can also be used on the cheeks as a light highlighter.
Staying Power – I always use an eye primer and this pigment stays put for 6+ hours which is highly impressive. These are an absolute must have and favorites of makeup artists especially in India as we are more into colors, glitters and pigments.
Kryolan Satin Powder SP 561 is priced at Rs. 300.
For the price, these are an absolute must have. If you get the hang of using pigments, Kryolan Satin Powder can save a lot of money. SP561 is a beautiful reddish pink bridal shade that works on all skintones.
