Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire oil (Rs. 2300 for 125ml) available at nykaa.com
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire Oil has been described as a versatile nourishing oil for fine and sensitized hair.
Kerastase describes this as a Multi-use oil that can be used pre and post styling
• Protects fine hair, delivering lightweight nourishment and ultimate shine
• Add softness, strength, and smoothness without weighing down the hair fiber
• Promotes cellular renewal with its anti-oxidant active ingredients
• Helps to protect hair from external aggressors
• Infused with a delicate floral scent
Along with Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire Oil, which is supposed to protect hair against UV radicals, this also has a host of “good-for-you” oils such as Argan oil and Maize oil.
A point to note, however is, that this contains silicones as one of the main ingredient. Silicones are mainly responsible for the immediate silky feeling. There is a fair amount of controversy over the use of silicones and there are a lot of people out there that don’t want to use a hair product with Sulphates or Silicones. I personally don’t have any issue with either and so I am happy to use this. I just thought I would mention this here as it may be impact your buying decision.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire Oil comes in a transparent purple bottle with a pump dispenser. When you look inside the bottle, you can clearly see two immiscible liquids (that don’t mix completely into one another). It does not look much like an oil as there is low viscosity.
My hair is dry, fine, sensitive, frizzy and colour treated. I have also straightened it some years back, making it brittle in parts. For my hair to look good, I need some serious heavy duty products. Being a loyal user of Kerastase shampoos and conditioners for years, I decided to give the new oil a shot.
You are supposed to use 2 to 4 pumps, since my hair is short I get by, using only 2. I mainly use this after shampooing and towel drying my hair. It makes my hair super soft, manageable and shiny. The overall look is extremely healthy. The first time I used it, I stopped short in my tracks when I saw myself in the mirror. My hair looked almost like it was done by a professional.
Kerastase does recommend that you touch up during the day as often as required, however I have never felt the need for this. Once used in the morning, it stays for the full day. I do wash my hair daily, so I cannot comment on how this holds for longer than a day, however I’m guessing you will need to reapply.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire Oil does not feel at all like a traditional oil. It is not very viscous and feels more watery. When I pump this into my palm, it moves around like water would. Even on the hair, it does not weigh down at all, even if you have applied more than recommended.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime Rose Millenaire Oil is love at first sight for me. I cannot imagine running out of this ever! Seriously. At first, this feels a little pricy for the quantity that you get, but let me assure you, the bottle will last and last. You really need a small amount. This has my stamp of approval.
