Iraya has come up with a number of very interesting sounding products. The last time there was a sale online, I picked up a couple of their products – Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub with fruits and nuts got me interested enough to pick up.  The brand says this is formulated with fruit extracts and the scrub is made from apricot and date granules that are supposed to exfoliate without damaging the skin.

Packaging – Like all Iraya products this comes in a small flat glass jar with a silver lid.  It is easy to reach out inside the jar and get your enough scrub on your fingers for using on your face.

Texture & Formula – When you open the jar you can see a rather loose gel like texture with a lot of the scrub particles inside.  I expected the colour to be far more appetizing than the rather plain boring brown that showed up.  When you first pick this up, you will feel that it is really watery, but that’s actually not true.  If you turn the jar upside down (yes, I did this) the scrub does not fall out.Iraya Fruit and Nut Scrub Review Price Photos (3)Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub goes on easily, feels a little water as compared to the other scrubs that I have used.  It does an OK job of removing dirt and grime and exfoliating the skin.  I find it rather ordinary, somehow I was expecting something more effective given the all natural brand.  The scrub particles are small but somehow don’t really scrub the face well and still feel a little abrasive.

In fact, I may use this up as a body scrub and get something a little better for the face.Iraya Fruit and Nut Scrub Review Price Photos (2)Fragrance – This is the part that got me most disappointed.  Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub has a very funny medicinal kind of smell.  I thought with the fruit and nut claim, it would be more fruity or fresh.  Anyway, the smell is not really strong and I find that it goes away immediately.

Overall Thoughts

You can happily skip Iraya Fruit & Nut Scrub.  It doesn’t really knock my socks off – in fact its just an ordinary scrub.  I find that you can get a far better experience from a L’Oreal or Garnier scrub.   I somehow had much higher expectations from the brand and was hoping I would love this.
