  1. Wash beetroot thoroughly under running water and peel off the out layer thinly. Then grate the root and collect about half cup of the grates.Squeeze a fist full if grated beetroot and extract its juice in a clean bowl.

  1. Clean carrot well and peel all around. Grate at least half of the large sized carrot. When pressed hard and squeeze tightly, carrot will ooze out juice too. Collect the juice extract in a clean bowl.
  2. To this, add the required amount of honey and olive oil and mix well. Transfer into a tiny lip balm tin and put in the freezer.

Pomegranate Lip Balm

  1. Take about half cup of pemgranate seeds. Crush them in the bowl with the help of a spoon. Strain the crushed seeds and collect the juice in a clean container. Add your favourite lip conditioners – half spoon each of honey and olive oil, to the pomegranate juice and mix well.
  2. Transfer into a small container and refrigerate.

Coffee Lip Balm

  1. Prepare thick concentrated decoction of coffee by pouring sizzling hot water over coffee powder and collecting the concentrated syrup.
  2. Add honey and olive oil to few drops of coffee decoction and mix well. You can also add melted shea/cocoa butter for thickness if needed.
  3. Put the coffee lip balm container in the refrigerator and cool.

Food color

  1. Food colors are a safe bet to try on lips. Pick red food color from your local departmental store. Use it to bring colored tint into any of your homemade lip balm.
  2. Melt beeswax/shea butter/cocoa butter in a small glass jar by immersing it in a pot of hot water. Add 2 drops of your peppermint essential oil and 4 drops of olive oil and stir well.
  3. Before the entire mixture cools down, add a small pinch of red food color and mix well.

Note: Make sure you wear clean gloves before preparing the lipbalms. Also use clean containers and take every precaution so that your lipbalms don’t contaminate. Prepare Natural Tinted Lip Balms in tiny batches as you can always prepare more later on when you have finished your tin. Since there are no preservatives used, a little mess can ruin all your effort.
