These leaves can be used in various forms,

  • raw fresh leaves blended into smooth paste with water,
  • or dried leaves powdered and stored in air tight jar,
  • or infuse the properties of the leaves by immersing them in hot oil/water/milk.

  • 5-6 holy basil (tulsi) leaves
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • Half cup milk (un skimmed)

How to prepare holy basil & curry leaves cleanser at home:

  1. Wash curry leaves and holy basil leaves thoroughly under clean running water.
  2. Place them in a clean bowl.
  3. Now, heat half cup milk, preferably un-skimmed milk in a pot. When it attains boiling state, switch off the flame and pour the milk into the bowl where leaves have been placed.
  4. Close a lid and allow the setting for about half an hour.
  5. This is a method of infusion where extracts of basil and curry leaves will dissolve in the hot milk.
  6. When the milk cools down, discard the leaves and you have a homemade cleanser ready for use.
