Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash Review

Hi guys! This post is about my experience on Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash. My acne prone skin loves skin care actives. Ever since the beauty world started focusing on scientific skin care methods with skin friendly acids, I have adapted it by heart.Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash Review

I have tried AHAs, BHAs, Hyaluronic acid, Cetearyl alcohol and so far the results have been terrific. Using actives in daily skin care need a bit of prior knowledge. But it’s worth your time and effort as it really shows on your skin. To cater my acne issues and clogged pores, I use gentle peeling acids like salicylic acid and glycolic acid.

These two ingredients act as skin exfoliant as well. I have replaced scrub for a cleanser containing these two. After trying a couple of brands, this time I bought Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash.

This home grown face cleanser has 2% glycolic acid and 1% salicylic acid. After using this regularly for 6 weeks, here’s my review of Globus Purifying Face cleanser. Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash Review

Glycolic acid is non-comedogenic meaning that they do not clog your pores. Glycolic acid also removes dead skin cells and reduces inflammation related to acne. Glycolic acid improves skin texture and diminishes wrinkles.

Salicylic acid is perfect for acne-fighting. Salicylic acid works by reducing the number of dead skin cells that are trapped inside the pores and prevents the pimples formation.

Packaging: Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash comes in a clear plastic tube. This hard plastic squeeze tube sits upside down. It doesn’t need vigorous squeezing to get the product out like most face cleanser and scrub tubes.

The packaging is very simple and unattractive to some extent. I don’t mind having a plain looking face cleanser tube in my vanity. For the price point, it’s a sturdy packaging. The face wash is available in one size only.

There’s no trial packs available for this one. On the back of the pack, you’ll see the complete ingredients list with percentage amounts for each item. I really appreciate this kind of detailed information.

Colour & Consistency: This face cleanser is transparent, colourless and gel based. The consistency is a little thick considering commonly available gel face cleansers. The wash has tiny plastic scrub beads.

These particles are sparsely distributed; I don’t get more than 2-4 beads per use. Though the scrub beads are increasing the aesthetic value, they are not at all needed. The ingredients are already enough to gently scrub off the dead skin layer.

Plus, Scrub beads often irritate sensitive skin. The wash creates minimal lather and washes off easily. Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash Review

Fragrance: Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash doesn’t smell good at all. Most medicated skin care products come with odd smell; this one is also among them.

This wash smells pretty artificial. The fragrance reminds me of washing powder surf excel. The smell is mild and foes off as I apply. Otherwise it would have been unbearable.

Quantity & Price: This face cleanser will cost you Rs.145 for 100ml. You can get good discounts on it if you’re buying online at amazon, nykaa etc. Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash is among the most affordable AHA-BHA face cleanser available in India.

My Overall Thoughts

Ever since I started using AHA-BHA based face washes, I has been buying Neutrogena Oil free Acne Wash containing 2% salicylic acid. Neutrogena face wash costs around 500 for 175ml. It is a world famous product and quite effective too.

I wanted to try out Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash to see if this affordable home grown wash could provide similar effects as Neutrogena or not. People in the web world seems to like the Globus face cleanser a lot. After using for some weeks, I fully agree to them.

I use the wash once a day. I use retinoid at night. Salicylic acid and glycolic acid should not be used with retinoid so I skip this wash at night. I apply just a peasize product on my wet face and let the product do its job for 2 minutes.

In the beginning, I kept it on my skin for 30 seconds. I eventually increased the time to avoid adverse effects. I did the same for the Neutrogena face cleanser too. Since my skin was already familiar with chemical exfoliants, the skin purging was quite low.

This face cleanser is slightly stronger in formula than Neutrogena. It is more effective as well. It exfoliates my skin gently and induces glow. It tackles clogged pores and stubborn blackheads.

It helps to dry out pimples fast and regular use fades acne marks too. I won’t buy the expensive Neutrogena face cleanser anymore because Globus Purifying Glycolic Acid & Salicylic Acid Face Wash is far more effective and pocket friendly.
