Givenchy Pink Silk Rouge Interdit Shine Lipstick (Rs 1800) buy from ShoppersStop
Givenchy makes some of the most luxurious make up products that I have ever used. I simply gravitate towards the counter looking at the amazing packaging. The quality is great and shades are well thought out .
Packaging – Givenchy Rouge Interdit Shine lipstick comes in a very interesting packaging. the main tube that houses the lipstick bullet is metal and is completely covered by a smoky transparent plastic sleeve. You open it with the little tab at the base. Looks very nice but it is a bit of a bother when you are want to carry it in your purse. I am always scared the plastic sleeve is not snug enough and will come off messing my handbag. You have to store is upside down – because of the tab at the bottom you cant make it stand on its base. I somehow prefer fancy but user friendly packaging.
Shade – Givenchy Pink Silk is a very light coral nude with lots of shimmer. In my hand swatch you can see that it’s just a tad darker than the skin on my hands. I was expecting this will not show on my lips at all, but surprisingly enough it shows really well. I can’t call it a nude, because of all the shimmer in it, but then, I anyway don’t care much for nude lips. It looks light pink, but not so light that it washes out the face. I really love this shade as a basic work wear colour.
Pigmentation – Givenchy Pink Silk is such a light shade that it’s a little low on pigmentation. But then the lipstick is meant to be sheer and it does a great job of making the lips look great. You cant flaw a product for being sheer, when it is supposed to be so.
One swipe is way to sheer, so I prefer to go over a few times so I can get a nice colour. Texture – I can barely feel this on my lips, it is light weight but super moisturizing. It is soft and glides on with ease. There is definitely a very high end feel to it.
Staying power – Givenchy Pink Silk stays on me for a good 4 to 5 hours, but because it is so moisturizing and smooth, it wipes off if you eat or drink anything. I actually prefer formulae that are nicer on my lips rather than using a dry long last lipstick, so this suits my purpose fine.
Overall thoughts
I like the colour a lot and therefore I find myself using Givenchy Pink Silk Rouge Interdit Shine Lipstick often. The texture and feel is great. I somehow find the higher end brands doing a much better job of the lighter less pigmented shades. I don’t mind spending more money for something that looks so good.

I love that color and it looks so comfortable to wear. However I agree with you on the package, I think they tried a little too hard. Pretty, but not very functional.

I have been searching for the perfect pink and this is it. It goes on smooth, wears all day, and best of all, it has no glitter.
