I am always on the hunt for good skin care products. Coming from South India, I have always believed in the benefits for Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Products. And after having such a good experience with the Forest Essentials Advanced Soundarya Serum, I decided to look for a good day cream with anti-aging properties with the same brand itself. Even though I do not have lines and wrinkles on my face yet (Thank God!), but the pigmentation and dullness which became more enhanced over the past few years was definitely a concern for me. I thought this is the right time to invest in anti-aging skin care products. I tried the sample of Forest Essentials Sanjeevani Beauty Elixir first and was convinced to go ahead and buy the full size.
Key Ingredients
Cold Pressed Sweet Almond Kernel oil, Sanjeevani Infusion, Chirongi Seed Extract, Glycerine, Jojoba Seed Oil, Anantmool root extract, Fruit extract, Nagkesar extract, Turmeric Extract, Vitamin E, Cardamom Extract
Packaging – The old packaging was gold capped bottle with a pump which had 25ml of product. They recently changed it to a tub packaging with a glass bottom and signature gold lid. The present packaging contains 30g of product. The packaging is definitely attractive which has always been the USP of this brand. Even though the current style of packaging is not travel friendly as it is of glass and also unhygienic owing to the tub packaging, I prefer the tub style packaging to the bottle having used both.
The reason being, with the bottle style packaging there was lot of product wastage, because you cannot reach the bottom to scrape the product which doesn’t get dispensed by the pump owing to its creamy consistency.
Texture – Forest Essentials Sanjeevani Beauty Elixir is a light weight cream in a baby pink colour. It absorbs into the skin easily. A small amount is enough to cover the entire face and neck. Using a lot product might make your skin greasy. The fragrance is very pleasing. It smells floral and soothing. One tub can last upto 2-3 months with regular usage.
My Experience
The first time I used the product I was really impressed with the fragrance and that how easily it gets absorbed into the skin. You don’t feel any tackiness or oil on your skin. Having said that, I use it more in the winters and the cooler times of the year.
In summers anything and everything melts off my skin which is a huge annoyance for me. Even though it doesn’t make my skin oily in the summers but this cream tends to melt off of my skin after a few hours. I generally tend to use gel based product in the extreme summers. But during winters and the in between weathers when your skin feels thirsty and dry, this product is a boon. It keeps my skin hydrated and plump.
With regular use it brightens, tightens and deeply nourishes my skin. Makes it look dewy. This along with the Soundarya Serum has managed to reduce and lighten the pigmentation on my face; it has brought back the glow and elasticity. Trust me, in the past two years I haven’t had a facial. I only get a deep cleanse done.
All the other needs of my skin are taken care by these two products along with the FE Gel which I use in the summers. But one con I find is that it has no SPF, so you need an extra product to take care of that need. Also, people with oily skin might find this a bit a heavy, especially during the summers. I suggest that get a sample size first and try it in the cooler months first before buying the product.
Forest Essentials Sanjeevani Beauty Elixir (Price 3175 for 30 g)
Overall Thoughts
Forest Essentials Sanjeevani Beauty Elixir is again a must have product in my skin care stash. It gives my skin a dewy and drenched look. Nourishes from within and gives an overall healthy look to the skin. Price is again on the higher side, but it does provide you, your money’s worth. It definitely did for me.
