I used to be a DIY Face masks kind of girl. At the same time I was lazy to pamper myself on a regular basis. I tried to find alternatives with many brands, but most of them showed a temporary effect only. I wanted something which was as effective as my home made masks, but less time consuming. By now, you all would already know I am a huge fan on Forest Essentials products. So, I decided to turn to my favourite brand for my perfect masque. I wanted something which cleansed my skin thoroughly, brightened and nourished my skin. I chose the Forest Essentials Madhulika Nourishing Honey Lep for those exact reasons.

Product Claims – A highly nourishing organic Honey Lep or Masque, made from ancient Ayurvedic texts. Fermented raw cane sugar is blended with fresh orange juice, organic Honey, herbs and oils for an incredible food for the skin. This Madhulika Lep Facial Masque is packed with potent herbs and cold pressed organic oils. Enriched with organic raw Honey this masque deeply cleanses, tones and gives an instant glow to the skin.

Key Ingredients – Organic Honey, Orange Peel Extract, Sugarcane Extract, Bitter Orange Peel Powder, Nagkesar Extract, Sweet Almond Kernel Cold Pressed Oil, Vetiver Root Oil, Anantmool Root Extract, Liquorice Root Extract, Bitter Orange Peel Oil, Sandalwood Oil.

Packaging – It has the usual signature tub packaging of Forest Essentials Product. A glass bottom, with a golden cap and a plastic stopper inside.  As luxurious and attractive as always. Perhaps, this is the only time I find the packaging a bit inconvenient as it tends to get messy while taking out the product. The best option is to use a clean spatula every time for a non-messy and hygienic approach.

Texture & Fragrance – Forest Essentials Madhulika Nourishing Honey Lep has a thick jelly like or honey like sticky consistency. But unlike honey, it is not runny. It is a ready to apply mask. But, it definitely tends to get messy. It is a bit difficult to apply but sticks on, once applied evenly. It has fine particles of sugar cane and orange peel. The fragrance is a mixture of honey and orange. It has a citrus smell. Smells incredibly yummy to me, but some might not prefer the smell.

 My Experience

After cleansing my face, I spritz my face with rose water and then apply Forest Essentials Madhulika Nourishing Honey Lep.  This helps in the even application of the mask and helps it spread better. I leave it on for 15-20 mins. It doesn’t dry out completely. I then wet my hands with lukewarm water and massage this mask on my face for 2 mins. The tiny particles of sugar cane and orange peel act as mild scrub and help in exfoliating my skin at the same time. I then wash my face with lukewarm water. I then pat my skin dry. You can see an immediate glow in the skin and the skin feels soft and supple to touch. It gives a feeling of thoroughly cleansed and nourished skin.

Over regular use it has brightened my skin and tightened my pores. It is an ideal mask for dry to normal to combination skins. Especially in the winters it is a boon, as the cold pressed oils in the mask give the required hydration to the skin. I have noticed that in summers, it helps in removing the tan also. So, for me it’s an all year round product.
