Packaging – Packaging is indeed luxurious with a mirror inside. I am planning to melt and store a lipstick when it gets empty.Texture & Formula – I like my lipbalms with thick texture so that they can work under lipstick. Forest Essentials Kokum Butter & Honey Lip Balm has very oily consistency and I have to wipe it away before applying lipstick as it causes the formula to slip around. Formula is moisturizing but not enough for my dry lips. I still prefer my Burts’ Bees Pomegranate Lip Balm over this. I have used this lip balm for over a month and didn’t see doing it much even after applying it twice thrice throughout the day ! My Experience
My main reason behind spending so much on a lip balm was to get something to deal with lip pigmentation. My upper lip darkened during and after pregnancy and I have been looking out for something that could lighten the darkness a bit. I have heard so many people raving about its such properties. Even at the time of buying this lip balm I checked with the SA and as per him its effective in lightening lip pigmentation over a period of time. I have been using Forest Essentials Kokum Butter & Honey Lip Balm for over 6 weeks now I am very sad to say that I haven’t seen any improvement in the lip pigmentation.
That’s how much I have used it, I have hit the pan 🙂What I liked about the product
- Formula free of chemicals.
- Luxurious packaging.
- Natural Ingredients
What I dislike
- Not enough moisturizing.
- Kokum Butter variant has a weird taste and smell that I absolutely detest.
- Doesn’t lighten pigmented lips. Even if it does its not visible.
- Expensive
Overall Thoughts
I had high hopes from Forest Essentials Kokum Butter & Honey Lip Balm. I never expected it to completely remove the lip pigmentation, but to lighten it a bit. It failed to do so. Also it tastes and smells funny. I find it pretty expensive for just a regular lip balm, there are lots of brands available with all natural/ chemical free compositions with little less price. No I wouldn’t repurchase it.

This sounds lovely. Fresh makes a lip balm called Rose that is also really nice.

I would love to try that 🙂

It’s sad the balm doesn’t do much! Forest Essentials has nice packaging and good ingredients, but a heavy price tag is justified only if the product works.

This is what I am trying to say Jas.. I had huge expectations :/
