This is the era of liquid lipsticks and matte lips. And I love it. But it’s very important to prep your lips before applying any kind of lipstick. Especially liquid lipsticks can be very unforgiving on dry and chapped lips. I have moderately dry lips, they aren’t that dry but I do get the occasional flakiness. I used to make lip scrubs at home but I wanted a quick alternative at hand, especially when I am in a rush. So, went ahead and bought the Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub.
Product Claims –Our lip scrub, with sugar cane juice, sugar crystals and beeswax, is used to gently exfoliate dry dead skin on your lips and prepare them for a nourishing butter lip balm or lipstick.
Key Ingredients – Sunflower Seed Oil, Jojoba seed oil, Olive Fruit oil, Kokum seed butter, organic Beeswax, Cane Sugar, Vitamin E< Grape Juice, Rose Flower Water Extract, Sweet Orange Peel Oil
Packaging – Boxed inside a cute cardboard box, Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub has the typical Forest Essentials attractive packaging. It has tub style packaging with a plastic bottle with the signature golden cap. It feels and looks luxurious. It’s travel friendly and quite compact.
Texture & Fragrance – The Texture of this lip scrub is very soft and buttery with fine granules of sugar. These granules are very tiny and are not at all harsh on the lips. It removes all the flakiness on the lips and even the bumps around them. The oils present in the ingredients moisturise and hydrate the lips simultaneously after removing the dead skin. It has a sweet lemony fragrance which is very soothing. A tiny amount goes a long way.
My Experience
I love prepping my lips with Forest Essentials Cane Sugar Lip Scrub before applying lipsticks. And even otherwise when my lips feel a bit dry and flaky I love using this. I use a tiny amount to scrub my lips and around and then wipe it off with wet wipes or damp cloth. It instantly scrubs my lips off the dead skin, removes the bumps around my lips owing to threading and moisturises and hydrates my lips. I feel like I don’t even need a lip balm after exfoliating my lips with this. And over the time and with regular usage it has reduced my lip pigmentation also.
