My love for red lipsticks is never ending. I have collected so many shades of reds that I should be content, but sight of another lip product makes my heart jump ! Well it did jump again recently at Faces Midnight Rose Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon, which is a matte lip product and a new launch from Faces Canada.
Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon comes in a wooden pencil that needs to be sharpened. Each pencil comes with a separate sharpener.
Shade – Faces Ultime Midnight Rose is a beautiful deep shade of red, an absolute stunner. This one shade is universally flattering and it looked gorgeous on everyone who wore it that day !
Texture & Formula – Midnight Rose is a matte formula, which isn’t synonymous to waxy texture. I was quite pleased to find the texture easy to work with, and it glides on effortlessly even on non-moisturized lips. However after couple of hours when the color starts settling in, lips start feeling dry. I always keep a clear lip balm handy to salvage such situations. It reapplies well and doesn’t settle into fine lines.
Pigmentation – Superb, the above swatch is one stroke of color ! I have uneven lip tone and it covers the discoloration/ unevenness completely. I have already used it 5-6 times without the need of sharpening the tip.
Staying Power – Faces Midnight Rose stays on for good 6+ hours.
This is how it looks on me. Picture was clicked indoors under white lights so it lacks warmth but the color more or less looks the same.

Overall Thoughts
Faces Midnight Rose is a must have shade for all those who love to sport red lips. The texture of the Ultime Pro Lip Crayon is not dry waxy and glides on smoothly. The pigmentation is superb and it stays on for good 6+ hours. There is no con as such except for non-retractable packaging.
