Etude House Play Nail Polish 70, 82, 46 Review

Etude House Play Nail Polish (S$ 4   for 8ml) available at ebay.comEtude House Play Nail Polish Blues and Purple (1)Etude House has a huge range of really fun and on trend nail polishes.  The best part for me was the budget price tag.  I hauled quite a few of these pretties and today I am reviewing 3 of the shades. Check out the other 3 shades of Etude House Play Nail Polishes reviewed before.

Unfortunately Etude House Play Nail Polish don’t have names, just numbers and so it can get a little confusing, but then I don’t own that many yet. J

Packaging – The bottle is a simple round one with a white cap.  There is a very pretty lace design running along the top with a little bow at the end, epitomizing the very word “Play”.  Most of the labels are in Korean so it’s a little difficult to figure what’s what.  For instance the quantity is not mentioned anywhere on the bottle and I got it from the website.

Shades and Formula

70 is a very light bluish green, almost teal coloured polish.  This reminds me of the old Binaca toothpaste once applied to my nails.  In the bottle it looks very delicate and innocent, but on my fingers this has a certain neon quality to it.  I certainly cannot wear this often.  Yes, you can see it from the moon and beyond. I guess it does not go with my brown skin very well. When I picked this up, there was a sale going on and they were out of testers, but did have nail wheels.  Had I tried this on, I may have passed on the colour.

The texture on this one was a bit streaky like all light pastel creams.  This applied very much like a pastel polish.  I needed 3 thin coats to get this one out even, and it did feel a little gluggy and thick.  This is going to need some thinner.

82 is a really lovely true blue.  This one looks very plain in the bottle but is very beautiful once worn.  The application on this one is a lot easier than the earlier one.  It also has a certain crelly effect (between a cream and a jelly).   The formula was thin and it applied evenly and well.  I needed only 2 coats to get this to look perfect.

46 is a nice purple with a red base.  A very basic colour, great if you don’t have anything like this, otherwise easily dupeable.  I again find that this is more of a crelly than a true cream polish.  In fact it looks almost see through in some of the images, thought that is not the case in person. Application on this was a breeze. Etude House Play Nail Polish Blues and Purple (2)

Application and Formula – Overall, with one exception I find the Etude House Play Nail Polish to be thin, easy to apply and self leveling. Though there is a really strong chemical smell when I open the bottle.  I can’t figure whether these are 3 free or not.

My nail polish was dry to the touch in less than 10 minutes and completely dry in about 20.   I did not use any base or top coat with it.

Staying Power – On me Etude House Play Nail Polish stay for about 2 to 3 days before they start chipping.  Again, I always mention that I’m really hard on my fingers and they do suffer a lot of abuse so that’s pretty good.

Overall Thoughts

A nice little treat – I love the range of happy playful colours.  I am thrilled I managed to pick up so many of these beauties.   I will be using the Etude House Play Nail Polish blue and purple a lot.
