Etude House Magic Tint Balm Review Swatches Photos

Etude House Magic Tint Balm (Singapore $ 9 for 10gm) from ebay.comEtude House Magic Tint Balm , Cherry Red - Review and Swatches (2)

I like tinted lip balms since you can take care of your lips and at the same time step out looking good.  A good tinted lip balm will need no lipstick or gloss to be layered, making it a good two in one deal.

Shade – The Cherry Red tint looks very red in the jar but when worn it is quite sheer.  The color is definitely cherry red though.  It shows on my very pigmented lips quite easily.  The finish is really high shine and it gives a very glossy overall look to the lips. The shine does wear off in an hour but the colour still shows quite well on the lips.

Packaging – Etude House Magic Tint balm falls into the category of nice to have stuff that looks cute in its packaging.  The little box reminds me of the Body Shop lip balms.  It resembles the Body Shop in more ways than just the packaging, I’ll get to that in a bit.

The lid has the name written on it with a nice little border.  It looks silver but in sunlight the label is holographic.  There is no mention of the shade anywhere on the jar except for a rather large label that you have to peel off in order to open.  The base has stuff written in Korean, so I’m guessing the label is added on only for English speaking countries. Etude House Magic Tint Balm , Cherry Red - Review Swatches PhotosTexture – This lip balm feels exactly like the Body Shop lip balms do,  when worn.  The texture is exactly the same.  There is no fragrance or flavor however.  I am so used to rather nicely flavored balms that this feels a little dull in that department.

For those of you, who haven’t used Body Shop stuff, this is nice and thick and slides on well onto the lips.  You can definitely feel it on the lips, Etude House Magic Tint Balm is not one of those that slip on and you feel like there is nothing on.  It makes my lips feel nice and moisturized.  The balm bit, I definitely like.

Pigmentation – As a tint, this isn’t supposed to be super pigmented.  I find that it does it job rather well, covers my lip colour, is quite opaque and the colour is true to the jar.  You know what your going in for when you pick this up.

Staying power – The balm effect stays for 5 to 6 hours if you don’t eat a meal in-between.  It will hold through  coffee and snacks though.

Overall Thoughts

If you can find this easily, Etude House Magic Tint Balm is worth getting.  It’s one of the nicest tinted lip balms that I have.  However if you don’t really feel a tinted balm is needed as part of your arsenal, then you can easily skip this.  It isn’t that readily available either.   I like it a lot and will enjoy using this
