Etude House Color Lips Fit Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Fit Red (S$ 15)One of the best things about reading blogs is that you get to hear about some awesome brands from all over the world. Etude House is a brand I may have ignored had it not been for the rave reviews I read about them. I picked up a pretty neat haul from their Singapore store – only wish I had bought more 🙂
Packaging – Etude House Color Lips Fit Liquid Lipstick comes in a rather large tube with a doe foot applicator. The tube itself is housed in a nice cardboard box with a fun design. Etude house is known for its funky fun packaging and it doesn’t disappoint. Most of the instructions and ingredients are in Korean but there is a diagram which clearly shows that you need to shake the tube before application. The sales staff are also extremely helpful and guide you along on the method of application.
Shade – The Etude House Color Lips Fit is a liquid lipstick that goes on very very pigmented and matte. This is true neutral toned red. The colour is dense and on swatching looks pure red. On my lips however it pulls a little more bright pink than red.
Texture and Formula – The doe foot applicator allows you very smooth application. Being dense and pigmented you need to swipe Etude House Color Lips Fit Liquid Lipstick over your lips only once and you get complete coverage. The colour looks a little shiny on initial application and takes a bit of time to dry completely. I find this takes a lot longer than the other liquid matte lipsticks that I have used, almost a whole minute and a half. However once it’s dry, it has a completely matte velvety texture. There is a glossy top coat separately available from Etude House, however I saw this after I had done my billing and didn’t bother to go back and get it.
The only down side is, this liquid lipstick is extremely drying on the lips. I actually started feeling uncomfortable within the first hour of application. This does not start sinking in fine lines though.
If you tend to lick your lips or wet them even slightly whilst sipping water, the colour starts melting onto whatever touches your lips. So if you drink some water and lightly pat a tissue – a lot of pigment comes off on the tissue, even hours after application. Pigmentation – Dense and beautiful, there is no other liquid lipstick I’ve seen quite this good.
Staying Power – Etude House Color Lips Fit Liquid Lipstick stayed put on me for about 6 hours, after which I took it off with a make-up remover. Licking my lips to keep them moist, did fade the colour marginally, but that was not really very visible. The fading is slow and even for the most part. There is some more fading in the centre but that is again not very obvious.
I love the colour and the gorgeous impact of the matte but very bold colour. I love the finish the effect and everything about it. I just wish Etude House Color Lips Fit Liquid Lipstick was kinder on my lips. I would love to wear this often, but I need to give it a break cause wearing this daily will wreak havoc on my lips.
Rating – 4/5
