Estee Lauder Travel Exclusive Lip Gloss Set Review Swatches (4)One of the super thrills of travelling, for me, is browsing duty free stores for their travel exclusives.  Yes, I do love travelling and  visiting new countries, but you can’t beat the joy of a nice little duty free haul.

The Estee Lauder Travel Exclusive Lip Gloss Set is what I would call ” a lot of awesomeness” !  I truly love the Estee Lauder Gloss formula and getting a set of 5 is always a treat.  The price also works out pretty great.  The minis are 4.6 ml each whereas the full size is 6 ml, so you get 5 colours at Rs 500 each, that works out pretty nice.Estee Lauder Travel Exclusive Lip Gloss Set Review Swatches (1)

Texture and Formula – The texture and formula of all Estee Lauder Glosses is pretty similar.  They are soft, moisturizing and really great on the lips. They have a faint fruity smell that goes away in a bit.  I actually like the fragrance.

Pink Innocence

This is the most sheer of the lot.  It barely registers any colour on my lips but gives it a nice glossy sheen.  The colour is a pale rose toned pink with micro gold shimmer.  The shimmer doesn’t show at all once applied.

Blazing Coral

This one look pretty pigmented in the tube, but is a lot less so once applied.  The tube is a beautiful coral with a ton of gold and deep pink shimmer.  It looks like a pretty dhup chav sari, but that doesn’t translate too well on the lips.  There is a slight orangish tinge on the lips with some of the shimmer visible but not much colour.  I expected this to be one of my favorites, but sadly its just ok.

Rock candy

This is very similar to the colour in Pink Innocence.  Whereas pink innocence has a very light but dusty rose shade, this leans more true pink.  The level of shimmer is much less in this case and it looks a tad lighter than my lip colour.  Any pigmentation on the lips will show through this one.  My least favorite of the lot.

Garnet Desire

This is one of the two most pigmented shades.  The colour does not remind me of garnets, rather it looks more brick red in the tube.  It has a lot of gold shimmer running through.  On the lips it looks like a sheer red leaning towards brownish orange.

Raspberry Pop

This one is fuchsia with silver and bluish micro shimmer, though I can’t really see the shimmer colour properly.  The effect of the shimmer is visible on the lips in this case.  Also being one of the most pigmented, there is a clear fuchsia colour on the lips, albeit sheer.

Lasting Power –Like all Lauder glosses, these wear off in a couple of hours.  Any food consumed will warrant a touch up immediately.  They don’t claim to be long lasting so I don’t really mind.

Overall thoughts

I have always loved Estee Lauder glosses, though these seem to be more sheer than the singles that I have bought earlier.  I do wish they had a little more pigmentation, that would have made them perfect, but I do love these all the same.
