About the Palette

Summer, sun, the beach and the ocean can life get more beautiful than this? oh yes! with the eyeshadow palettes by essence sun club. they each contain eight gorgeous colours for ultimate glamour. thanks to the practical mini-format, they are a loyal companion for on-the-go, too!

I bought Essence Sun Club Glamour To Go Eyeshadow Palette in 02 Long Beach last month. I was quite elated too find Essence online and ordered whatever caught my fancy. I am still not able to figure out as to whether that was a wise step or impulse act, because couple of products have disappointed me and I have mixed feelings about this palette.

Shade – Essence Sun Club Glamour To Go Eyeshadow Palette 02 Long Beach is a perfect neutral eyeshadow palette. Lots of shimmery earth tone shades are there. Palette is small and lightweight, perfect for travelling. It comes with a dual ended brush which is of no – use.

Formula & Texture – All the shades are shimmery and hence there is considerable amount of fall outs with each application. Lighter shades are more shimmery and have sheer texture than the darker ones. Formula varies across the board, some are smooth & buttery where others are too flaky. First & last two  shades from the above swatch fail to show up no matter what primer you use. 4 Shades in the middle are good and work really well.

Pigmentation – As you can tell from the above swatches, pigmentation varies from shade to shade. Lighter shades are sheer where darker shades are better.

Staying Power – All the shades need good base to show up well and don’t stay on for more than 4+ hours.

Overall Thoughts

I liked this palette for the variety of neutral shades it offers. Unfortunately poor pigmentation & texture of some of the shades make it an average one. I have couple of neutral palettes and I am sure this one wouldn’t be able to make a mark. If you apply opaque matching colored base under these, these shades show up much better. Also price wise this palette is a good option.

It could have been a perfect neutral palette only if the shades were a little more pigmented ..

Hi Shalini! All the colors look super tempting on the palette though! & I think considering the price we can overlook the fact that 50% of the colors under perform lol! 😛 But really I’m tempted to buy one too.
