Essence Samba Green (27) Kajal Pencil Review Swatches Photos

I love experimenting with different colored kajal rather than the same black kajal as a just a stroke of color on the eyes can change the whole look. Essence is a pretty affordable brand and they have some amazing quality products at budget friendly prices. The colored kajal pencil range has a variety of bright colors available and easily available online. Coming to Essence Samba Green (27) Kajal Pencil which I own lets see how it turned up for me –

Packaging:- Nothing fancy , Essence Samba Green Kajal Pencil comes in usual wooden pencil form with a silver cap. The color of the pencil is as per the shade of the kajal therefore one can easily spot the kajal in the stash. The description is written with silver font. It’s not in retractable form and one need to sharpen it plus there is no sharpener provided. Overall the packaging is simple and sleek.

Shade :- The color samba green is a pretty pale forest green shade. Personally I love sporting different shades of blues and greens on my eyes. This one is a beautiful unique light green shade which on application can t make the eyes highlight. I always owned bottle green shades , this was something new shade in my collection.

Pigmentation & Texture – As much as I am raving about the shade , I loved its pigmentation too, one swipe and you are done. It has a metallic texture which looks amazing on the eyes. Now coming to the sad part , as the pigmentation is extremely creamy and soft , single swipe can break the tip and you need to sharp again.

It has a good color pay off and it glides like a butter on the eyes, but as it has extremely soft creamy texture it smudges quite easily as well. A little pressure on application and you need to sharp again. If you are one of those persons who do not have habit of rubbing their eyes, then this kajal can stay on your eye lids for maximum 4 hours or else it smudges like crazy once touched.

Apart from the smudging and its delicate texture problem. I can only say it has good pigmentation and if set with an eyeshadow it can work well.

Overall Thoughts

I have started using Essence Samba Green Kajal Pencil as an eyeshadow base as it smudges easily and has a good metallic texture . However as its not serving the purpose as a kajal , I would not repurchase this colored kajals from essence .
