I was looking for an alternative to Maybelline Gel Liner, just to try something new. Essence Cosmetics has recently been made available on Medplusbeauty, so I decided to give it a try. 

Shade – Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Eyeliner is an intense black matte gel eyeliner. Perfect for those who don’t like glossy finishes.

Texture & Formula – Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Eyeliner has a creamy smooth texture. Formula is very buttery and glides on easily without tugging or pulling eyelids. I didn’t layer it up since one stroke was all I needed. It sets and dries up fast and doesn’t look wrinkly or patchy even after long hours. Formula is long wearing, smudge proof but not waterproof. Pigmentation – Like I have mentioned above, Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Eyeliner is an intense black color with superb pigmentation. One stroke is enough to deliver enough color.

Staying Power – Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Eyeliner stays on for good 7+ hours. It starts fading a bit by the end of 5-6 hours.

Overall Thoughts

I like Essence Midnight In Paris Gel Eyeliner for the price & formula. Its one of the blackest black eyeliners available in the market. Packaging is simple glass jar packaging however unlike other gel liners it doesn’t come with a brush. Texture & formula is this gel eye liner is smooth and buttery. Due to its amazing pigmentation one doesn’t need layering. Its a good budget product with a smudge proof and long lasting formula however if you are looking for a waterproof product, this wouldn’t please you.
