Elizabeth Arden Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara ($19.50) I have been cursed with very sparse lashes, and that is one of the biggest reasons for me to look for good quality mascaras which would help me maintain them. Since I change them every three months, I generally only buy one mascara at one point time. This time it was Elizabeth Arden Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara.

Company Speak: This long-lasting mascara thickens, separates, and defines lashes without clumping or smudging. Formulated with ProVitamin B5 to nourish and strengthen lashes. Ophthalmologist tested. Clinically tested.Product and Packaging: A long, slim black tube with a gold rim around it, this is the mascara that has a simple but effective packaging. Once opened, the wand is long and slim, with a tapered end, perfect for applying the color all over my sparse lashes. The packaging is very travel-friendly and can be taken around safely. The applicator is long, so holding and applying the mascara is dead simple.

Formula and Application: The formula is thick but really spreadable, and unlike most mascaras that promise volume, this one does not clump up your lashes at the same time of application, making them look weird. In fact, you would see how it defines each lash and makes them stand out after only one coat, and two or three coats merely emphasize the effect. That makes this mascara a great product for people like me who dislike clumpy, overdone lashes, but wants a natural look. It fans out each individual lash and makes the most of them. I have put up a before-after photo to really show off the difference after only one coat. You can see how defined my lashes are right after the first application. In fact, I generally keep this at one coat, because I feel that makes my lashes look naturally defined and pretty.

The product does not sting my eyes and stays put for a good period of time unless it hits water. Yes, this is not waterproof so you can easily wash off by splashing your eyes. It is safe for contact lens wearers like me and has no smell. What I liked

Overall Thoughts

It is very rare that I give a product top marking for performance. However, Elizabeth Arden Double Density Maximum Volume Mascara is something that has excelled beyond expectations, so I have to give it the best marks.
