Dove shampoos have worked for me earlier so this time I zeroed on Dove Nutritive Solutions Oxygen Moisture Shampoo. Here is what I feel about this Dove hair wash for flat and thin hair.
About Dove Nutritive Solutions Oxygen Moisture Shampoo
Dove Oxygen Moisture shampoo is a transparent, lightweight formula enriched with Oxyfusion Technology. Its oxygen-fused moisturizing ingredients help to gently cleanse and moisturize hair, to give it bounce and a thicker look.
Packaging: This shampoo comes in a shiny white plastic bottle. The packaging is opaque but if you bring it near light, you will be able to see how much product is left in the bottle.
The flip-open bottle is sturdy and leak-proof but the cap might break if it slips to the hard floor your hand. This shampoo is available in 3-4 sizes; I bought the medium size. A small travel-bottle is available for this shampoo.
Colour & Consistency: This is a volumizing shampoo, naturally the formula is light. It looks transparent pale blue and its consistency is medium. Being a sulfate shampoo it creates lots of lather.
Still, the formula is milder than clarifying shampoos. It does not dry out the hair but still you will need a heavy conditioner with it if you haven’t done pre-poo hair oiling.
Fragrance: This shampoo has a very mild floral fragrance. I could identify the lily and cool breeze notes. I have used almost all variants from Dove’s shampoo range. All Dove shampoos have kind of same fragrance.
This one breaks the monotony with its soothing new fragrance.
Quantity & Price: 180ml of this shampoo comes at Rs.145. The price is okay for the product quantity since this 180ml bottle will last at least 3 months for someone with medium length hair.
Another good thing is that, this one comes at great percentage discounts at various online and offline sales.
My Overall Thoughts:
I have been an avid user of Dove hair care products specially the shampoos and conditioners since my school days. The Intense Repair range of Dove have been my saviour when I face excessive dryness. I have wavy hair so my hair looks unruly and is extremely frizz-prone.
This time also I was looking for the Intense Repair one but this Oxygen one was at discount so I got this one instead. After a few uses I found my hair is getting more dry. So, I started to oil my hair with coconut oil the night before hair wash. I was surprised to see the after effects.
This oil got rid of the excess oil and my hair looked volumized. The dryness issue vanished completely. The hair looks lustrous to some extent. Whenever I wash my hair without oiling, my hair becomes dry again.
After finishing 70% of my current bottle I have come to the conclusion that Dove Nutritive Solutions Oxygen Moisture Shampoo works best on greasy and oily hair for which this shampoo is actually designed.
I will not be using it frequently as it contains sulfate but this is a nice change from my boring medicated hair washes.
