I am not a mascara friendly person, I suck big time at application and carrying it. I generally love applying a bold lipstick and that’s all, no eye makeup nothing ! But since I have small thin lashes, sometimes for some special occasions I need to make them visible and appealing! Deborah Milano is a brand that has always delivered great quality in affordable prices, even though I wanted to go back to my L’Oreal Volume Million (Fuss free) mascara, I ended up buying Deborah Milano Definitive Volume & Curl Mascara.

Texture & Formula is quite liquid-y. It sprays on eyelids if one doesn’t scrap the excess formula as the wand/brush always comes out with excess product at the tip. Its not waterproof but stays on without smudging or transferring. This mascara comes in both waterproof and non waterproof versions.I asked for a formula that gives natural finish, nothing too dramatic or heavy.  Deborah Milano Definitive Volume & Curl Mascara definitely lengthens and volumizes my lashes, but not to the extent that they start looking too made up or clump. It separates and coats each lash. I haven’t experienced clumping or flaking.

Only downside is that the formula couldn’t keep my lashes curled for long ! I have naturally pointy lashes and without using an eyelash curler I can’t have those fluttery lashes. But even after using a curler my lashes fall flat and straight after an hour or so !

What I liked

1. Gives natural looking long lashes with bit of volume (nothing too dramatic).
2. Can be worn to work, lashes look defined and neat.
3. Formula doesn’t smudge or transfers, removes easily with simple makeup remover.
4. Doesn’t flake and stays on for good 6-8 hours.
5. Reasonably priced.
6. Wand is designed in such way that lashes at the inner corner can be coated well.
7. 3 different colors to chose from.

What I disliked

1. Can’t hold the curl for long, weighs down the lashes.
2. Doesn’t give dramatically voluminous lashes.

Overall Thoughts

If you have naturally long and curly lashes, you will love this formula. Deborah Milano Definitive Volume & Curl Mascara looks natural and gives right amount of length and volume. You can experiment with other 2 shades it comes in, I guess brown would look more natural on fair complexions where blue will add drama ! Staying power is good + product is affordable.
