Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive hair Oil Review

I have dry hair and I have used Olive Oil for years. I was quite excited to try the newest launch by Dabur i.e. Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive hair Oil. It has Olive Oil with Aloe Vera & Almond Protein as active Ingredients. Its a great combination since Olive Oil is famous for strengthening roots and making dull hair lustrous.

I oil my hair once a week night before and have been using Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive hair Oil for almost 2 months now. What I liked the most is that oil isn’t heavy or sticky. It has a very light texture. I can definitely see my hair lot softer and less frizzy after each wash.

Few things which really helped me tam down the fizziness:

    1. Do not always every alternate shampoo your hair. It will make loose the natural oil from the scalp and incorporates hair fall.
    2. Good to use conditioner leave for 15 mins and wash of properly.
    3. Serun handy evrytime.
    4. Never leave your hair open on harsh weather 🙁 it will cause lot of breakage
    5. For getting rid of split ends I had, warm olive oil take few drops and apply to the ends, it really will cut down the split ends 🙂 tried and tested me.
    5. Never the less at night, tie your hair loosely with a loose band.
    6. Recently discovered: Use a nylon cloth on top of pillow. It will help to tam down the frizz while you are in your dreams

I know its a long list, put these small things really helped me.

apply oil according to your hair type one night before washing
apply egg mixed with lhoneyon hair twice a week and apply on scalp.keep it for 20 minutes
you can also use a mixture of lemon and olive oil and leave your hair for 15-20 minutes
use any Sulfate free ishampoo because sulfates are very drying and harsh on hair
followed by a conditioner for normal to dry hair 🙂

Avoid using super tight hair ties as tight hair ties tend to pull hair back real tight which increases friction. This can cause breakage. also when go to bed at night, loosely braid your hair to avoid a frizzy mess. Leaving your hair open, tends to knot it which means you need to subject it to pulling and brushing in the morning. and over brushing results in the frizziness.

    To accelerate hair growth
Apply Coconut cream on your scalp and leave it for 30 mins and just before going in to bath pour some coconut cream in a bowl and dip the ends of your hair in that bowl and see the magic of how much your hair soaks up and see the results after shampooing and conditioning. Repeat it for a month or two and see the difference in he length.

1)Wash your hair every 2-3 days, for proper regulation of natural hair oils. Washing your hair less often will also help regain your hair’s natural body and luster.2) Avoid using a comb with plastic bristles to prevent hair breakage from static electricity. The best way to brush your hair is by first brushing the ends to remove tangles and then take the long stokes from the roots of the hair to the ends. This technique will help proper spreading of natural hair oil and thus prevent breakage.

My Simple And Best Hair Care Tips :-

    Tip 1

After shampoo and conditioning, be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly. Left-over product dulls hair.

    Tip 2

Distributing conditioner through your hair with a wide-toothed comb will leave your hair shiny and tangle-free.

    Tip 3

Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends. Conditioning your roots will weigh your hair down.

    Tip 4

If your hair is really dry, deep-condition at home. Apply conditioner to clean, damp hair; slip on a plastic cap and let your hair absorb for minutes.

    Tip 5

Rubbing your hair with a towel when it’s wet can ruffle the cuticle and cause tangles, so gently squeeze out excess water.

    Tip 6

Before blow drying, protect your hair with a styling product such as a conditioning milk, cream, or serum.

    Tip 7

Move your blow dryer from roots to ends to avoid frizz and shredding your hair cuticles.

    Tip 8

For smooth results, brush as you blow dry in the same direction. It will prevent your cuticle from roughing up.

    Tip 9

Make sure your hair is thoroughly dry before styling with a flat iron or curling iron to avoid frizz.

    Tip 10

For a fuller look, part or style your hair in the opposite direction.

    1. Choose the right shampoo: Using the right shampoo for your hair type is essential for getting the best results.
    2. Use the right brush: Use a brush with boar bristles, as it will reduce breakage and also help distribute your natural hair oils more effectively.
3.The last rinse: While washing your hair, finish with a last rinse of cold water. This helps seal your cuticles that help reflect natural light off your hair lending more shine. For a better effect you can mix vinegar with a little water while rinsing your hair.
4.Finishing touch: Once your hair is nearly dry just apply a little frizz taming serum to ensure your cuticles are tamed and your hair looks its glossy best before you step out

    HAIR CARE TIPS

For bouncy hair, apply a one to one mixture of warm water and apple cider vinegar to your hair. Rinse it thoroughly after 5 mins. to get rid of the apple cider vinegar smell.

Olive Oil is great for conditioning and shine. Honey can also be combined with Olive Oil on hair to make the results that much more effective. All you need is a small cup of olive oil. Use your hands to rub it in the ends and mid length of your hair and then shampoo and rinse.

Hair fall remedy for normal hair – Take half a cup of ‘amla’ powder, add to it two tablespoons of castor oil and one full egg and make into a smooth mixture. Apply on the hair and the scalp, leave on for about 30 minutes before shampooing

I don’t own many haircare products apart from the usual hair oil, shampoo, conditioner and serums, so my tips are going to be very simple and primitive. 😛
Tip #1. Oil your hair atleast twice a week, before you wash your hair. Spend atleast half an hour massaging the oil into your hair and scalp. not only does this adequately moisturise your hair, it also works as a relaxing head massage. 🙂

  • May 3, 2014

    Ashwini

Tip #2: If you’ve got thin hair (like I do) try to avoid conditioner as it weighs one’s hair down and makes it look flat on top of the head. Instead use a serum meant for dry/damp hair to detangle and manage your tresses. I have a lot of hair but I don’t have volume of top of my head which is why I’ve skipped conditioner and am applying serums instead- so far it’s working great. 🙂

1.Skip hot water showers, because hot water will make your hair dry and brittle as it strips protective oils from your hair. Thus, prefer a temperature which is just a bit warmer than your body temperature.
    2. Always oil your hair before washing them, it will keep the hair for getting dry and will be nourished.
3.After every wash , dont forget to condition it with a good conditioner as it gives the much needed smoothness and shine.

I stick to the basics of hair care as I stay in hostel and cannot get good amenities here !!
    So,
At night I loosely tie a bun leaving all the roots loose after combing my hair, sleep on a satin pillowcase of I have not oiled my hair.
I shampoo alternate days in this season, so I oil my hair on alternate days before going to sleep and shampoo the next morning.
An egg based hair mask every week end is a must for me. and the most important step for me is that I DO NOT Towel dry my hair, I just leave it to air dry naturally.

These are a few simple rules I abide by to keep my hair healthy. 🙂

THE BEST HAIR CARE TIP IS TO PUT OIL OVERNITE AFTER EVERY HAIR WASH FOR SHTENGTH, VOLUME ,SHINE AND LENGTH OF HAIR

  • May 3, 2014

    seema mishra

.Wash hair sparingly with a good-quality shampoo Use conditioner depending on your hair type, length, and treatment damage. Massage your scalp often:this will help your blood flow through it, and get your hair to grow faster.
Deep conditioning is very good for your hair. It keeps hair soft, healthy and moisturized.
Rinse your hair under cold water after you finish shampooing and conditioning to make it shine and look even more luscious than it was before.
Put an oil on your hair at night before going to shower because this makes your hair shiny.
Stress has a bigger impact than you think. Meditation can be very helpful, as well as exercise.
You can naturally strengthen your hair by mixing carrots, and Fuze or Vitamin Water together in a blender and rubbing gently into hair before you wash. Be sure to wash out well.
After you shower, try using a wide toothed comb, or even your fingers, rather than a brush.
Don’t blow dry hair too frequently. Frequent blow drying, or use of other heat products, can stress your hair.
When towel drying, don’t rub the hair vigorously. This splits the hair. Try using a micro fiber towel as they soak up lots of moisture.
If you absolutely have to use heat, make sure you use a protective spray first. These are very inexpensive.

    Meenakshi Kapur

    Hi
My hair care tips are the ones which I actually follow:

I pamper my hair with home remedies like I apply a mixture in my hair, in a bowl I take around half cup of curd and in it I add a little mustard oil and whisk in well and after washing my hair with shampoo I apply this mixture in my hair and massage it properly and then gently wash it off with water and tie around a towel in wet hair and comb them properly.

I apply methi pack once a month so as to prevent my hair from hair loss, I soak 2 spoons of methi seeds overnight and make paste in morning and apply into hair and generously apply in scalp and wash off hair with luke warm water and helps to grow my hair and I do feel the difference 🙂

Also I put beaten eggs once in month or shikakai and amla, for shikakai and amla I soak these in water overnight and then in morning after washing hair with shampoo and conditioner, I put the shikakai and amla soaked water in my hair and rinse it thoroughly, I use shikkakai in summer to give coolness to scalp but it can be used in winters too like at once a week…Believe me, after using shikakai and amla hair gets soft, smoother and shikakai has a cooling effect on scalp and I feel that I am pampering my hair just like they get pampered in a hair spa…

Apart from these, I comb my hair twice daily, have a healthy diet for my hair like I include milk, almonds, curd in my diet and always oil my hair prior to the night I shampoo my hair, and once in a month, my mom does champi of my hair with coconut oil which not only ensures proper circulation of scalp but also gives me immense relief n relax

    🙂

Always cover your hair with scarf or dupatta while you go out in the pollution or sun light.. because sun light and pollution directly falling on hair will damage your hair very much. Drink lot of water in the day especially while out in the sun.. to prevent damage to the hair.
Stop very frequent use or electrical hair straighteners, curlers, or dyes until unless very much necessary..

The hair care regime i follow is rather simple, bit i do it religiously without any careless miss.

My Hair Care Secret has been a simple one that is being followed since childhood. I take head massage every weekend with lukewarm pure coconut oil mixed with a li’l camphor (which is not added every time to the oil, but we put few pinches of camphor to a newly opened oil bottle in the beginning itself and use it whenever required). The aromatic camphor strengthens my hair at root level and holds it glossy. It also offers the benefits of non-flaky dandruff-free scalp and a boost in frequency of hair growth. After keeping the hair oiled overnight, a headbath in fresh water is what i opt next morning (strictly NO WARM WATER even in winters).
Lastly after shapoo, to settle my hair gently; i use around 2 glassful of freshly boiled and strained mint water (after getting it cool) to rinse my hair that keeps my tresses lustrous and scalp refreshed till the next wash 🙂

    Lovely giveaway…..

1-Drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet of raw fruits and vegetables. The most effective home treatment for hair care is a healthy diet. You are what you eat, and what you put into your body will be reflected on the outside.
2-Olive Oil is great for conditioning and shine. Honey can also be combined with Olive Oil on hair to make the results that much more effective. All you need is a small cup of olive oil. Use your hands to rub it in the ends and the mid length of your hair, shampoo after two hours.
3- Take half a cup of ‘amla’ powder, add to it two tablespoons of castor oil and one full egg and make into a smooth mixture. Apply on the hair and the scalp, leave on for about 30

After you get out of the shower, wrap your hair in a cotton T-Shirt. Towls are made of fabric that is very rough and damaging to your hair, causing frizziness and split ends. Avoid brushing hair while wet, as it makes the hair brittle and weak. Only use a wide tooth comb to brush out tangles while hair is wet.

My Simple And Best Hair Care Tips :-

+ After shampoo and conditioning, be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly. Left-over product dulls hair.

+ Distributing conditioner through your hair with a wide-toothed comb will leave your
    hair shiny and tangle-free.

+ Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends. Conditioning your roots will weigh your
    hair down.

+ If your hair is really dry, deep-condition at home. Apply conditioner to clean, damp
hair; slip on a plastic cap and let your hair absorb for minutes.

+ Rubbing your hair with a towel when it’s wet can ruffle the cuticle and cause
tangles, so gently squeeze out excess water.

+ Before blow drying, protect your hair with a styling product such as a conditioning
    milk, cream, or serum.

+ Move your blow dryer from roots to ends to avoid frizz and shredding your hair
    cuticles.

+For smooth results, brush as you blow dry in the same direction. It will prevent your
    cuticle from roughing up.

+ Make sure your hair is thoroughly dry before styling with a flat iron or curling iron to
    avoid frizz.

+ For a fuller look, part or style your hair in the opposite direction.

Heat oil to a warm temperature before applying it on your hair

Make partitions while oiling your hair. Rub oil in each partition. Make as many partitions of hair as you can. This will help oil to reach the scalp properly. Do not just pour oil on your hair

Avoid using too much of oil. Start applying little to each part of head and then massage. Massaging is important than the quantity of oil you use

Dip your finger tips in oil. Gently massage with finger on scalp by putting your hands inside hair

Massage with your fingers at least for 10 to 15 minutes after oiling your hair

Avoid washing your hair immediately after oiling. If you do not like to wear oily hair, you can oil it before going to bed. You can wash your hair the next day. For best results let the oil stay for one day on your hair. When you make the oil stay for longer time it soaks in the scalp better

Oil your hair at least once a week. If your hair is very dry you should oil it at least twice a week

Rub oil on the roots of your hair. it helps to improve blood circulation and make hair silky and strong

My hair care tips this summer –
    1) Trim the damaged sections of your hair, especially if you tend to have frizzy hair and keep them short during summer. Sporting a short hairstyle keeps you free from the heat.
    2) Don’t forget to carry a hat, scarf or a bandana in this heat! It is always advisable to protect your hair from sun.
    3) Avoid hot water hair wash, as the heat can damage your hair. Use cool water instead.
    4) Apply lemon or curd on your hair half an hour before you wash them off. It will make your scalp dandruff free and give the strands perfect shine.
    5) try not to shampoo your hair daily as it makes your hair dry and devoid of moisture.
    6) Always condition your hair after shampooing.
    7) Never comb your hair when wet.
    and
    8) Don’t forget to add pretty accessories to your hair and stay stylish!! 🙂

    My Hair Care Tips

    1) Shampoo less frequently and use shampoos which are gentle and will not give the lather. Finish with a cold water rinse to seal the moisture in.
    2) Deep condition your hair after each shampoo wash.
    3) After shampoo and conditioning, be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly. Left-over product dulls hair.
    4) Avoid using additional heat on your hair, meaning make the least use of hair dryers or hair curlers on your hair. If at all using it, remember to condition your hair before you do so.
    5) Drink plenty of water.
    6) Keep your hair knotted or wear buns or plats to avoid total exposure to sun and thus control frizzes.
    7) Before swimming wet your hair. Cover it with a thin layer of conditioner and leave it in until you shower after your swim.
    8) Rubbing your hair with a towel when it’s wet can ruffle the cuticle and cause tangles, so gently squeeze out excess water.
    9) For a fuller look, part or style your hair in the opposite direction.

    Hair fall remedy Oily Hair

Make a mixture out of one cup of henna powder to which one tablespoon of lime juice has been added and mix into it the white of an egg. If the egg smell puts you off, use curd instead of the white of an egg. Apply this mixture to the hair, leave on for approximately half an hour and then shampoo. A point to note is that this pack will not colour your hair despite the dying quality of henna being an ingredient.

Allow your hair to dry by itself instead of using a blow-dryer or hot rollers. Using this artificial mode of drying technique will make your hair more brittle and dry. If you have no time to let your hair air dry, then use blow-dryer sparingly and make sure you use a warm setting instead of a hot setting.

Avoid using a comb with plastic bristles to prevent hair breakage from static electricity. The best way to brush your hair is by first brushing the ends to remove tangles and then take the long stokes from the roots of the hair to the ends. This technique will help proper spreading of natural hair oil and thus prevent breakage
