Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Brick-O-La Review

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Brick-O-La Review This range of lipsticks from Colorbar are quite popular. The shade being reviewed today is “brick-o-la”.Its a warm brown color with reddish-pink undertones. It would look awesome on fair to medium skin tones, but might be neonish on dark skin tones. Heavily pigmented and one swipe is enough to color the lips, covers lip pigmentation perfectly. Safe bet is to try it out on lips before buying, if possible. The texture of the lipstick is smooth and creamy.  It glides on the lips and is not drying at all. I feel if the lips are too dry with prominent lines, it might settle on the fine lines. Now coming to the lasting power, it lasts and lasts and when it fades leaves behind a tint on your lips, which is hard to take off. Also the fading is gradual. I use make up remover to remove it. Its a pro factor but I find it irksome when it sticks to the lips.In the below pic, I wiped the swatch off with tissue paper, even after that my hand was left stained. I tried washing it with few drops of water, still it was difficult to remove, remained on my hands for hours until I used makeup remover. Also it has a funny smell which goes off after sometime.Overall Thoughts

Great color and texture! One of the best budget buys. Total value for money although some people might find the lip staining a turn off.
