Winter is here and I am preferring crème finishes over matte finishes already. Also the deeper colours are starting to make their impressions as the fall enters. I went for a luring reddish plum shade from colorbar for office wear from their crème touch range. Let us see how Colorbar Red Plum Crème Touch Lipstick faired for me.
Packaging- It comes in the shiny silver casing unique of Colorbar. The lipstick then is housed in a silver cardboard box.
Shade- Red Plum is a reddish plum shade that has more of maroonish brown in it than plum tones. It’s deep and perfect for the fall however it is not exactly a red plum for that matter. But the shade itself is gorgeous and is suited across all complexions.
Texture & Formula – It’s creamy, smooth and glides very softly and easily on the lips. Since it is crème finish it imparts gloss like shine that settles into a healthy, not-too-shiny look after few minutes. It feels very comfortable on the lips and is pretty lightweight too.
Pigmentation & Finish– Pigmentation wise Colorbar Red Plum is sheer to medium but not unevenly so. Layering up doesn’t help as the finish is meant to be sheer. But trust me the sheer pigmentation adds a lot of beauty to the colour.
It could have been passed off as a normal reddish maroon shade had it not been for the slight plum undertone and glowing sheer finish. However unlike other crème lipsticks this particular one emphasizes fine lines which is a big con for me.
Staying Power– Staying power isn’t that great as it is a crème finish lipstick. It stays for about 2.5 hours on me and doesn’t survive meals. I have tried crème finishes with better staying power from faces and hence I am not impressed with the durability of this.

Overall Thoughts
You can try this lipstick especially for the shade and the formula. It is very hydrating and the feel is very lightweight. Colorbar Red Plum is comfortable on the pocket too as the price is under 500 INR.

I too have an orange shade in creme but it’s impossible to use it without lip liner …cause it bleeds…maybe I have overly oily lip glands 😉
