Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar Review Swatches Photos

I never call myself a highlighter girl , because I avoid wearing them most of the times. But the beauty blogger in me makes me buy them all the time.Firstly to test and share my thoughts and secondly for the looks I create on my Youtube channel (Subscribe if you haven’t already 😉 ) . Now there are some decent buys and then there are products that are out of budget but you still buy them out of curiosity. This time it was the new revamped Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar.

I haven’t tried the old one so can’t really compare the formulas but this one looks CHIC, like high end. The high end feel to it stares at you from the counter. I looked at the glossy black square case and immediately thought of Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick which is also known as an insanely priced beauty item. Now I have also tried one from Makeup Revolution which is also a good buy if you ignore the flimsy packaging.

The case feels good quality with a sturdy packaging. It feels durable and shuts securely. There is a good size mirror inside as well. You get 11 gm product in Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar which is similar to what you get in Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact (10.3g).  Makeup Revolution Shimmer Brick can be a good dupe with a little less quantity (8 gm) .

There are 3 shades available – Bronze Glow, Rose Glow & Nectar Glow. I picked the first one because i wanted to use it majorly for bronzing purposes. Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar is gorgeous and adds a beautiful bronze sheen to the skin without too much shimmer. I hate shimmery highlighters as they make pores and texture on the skin prominent. Also highlighters with sheen can be used day or night.

Texture & Formula – This is what made me fall in love with the Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar , apart from the packaging. The texture of the 5 strips is creamy ! You don’t have to blend it mercilessly on the cheeks to get a natural sun kissed glow. It blends immediately without looking patchy or gaudy. Formula is perfect for bronzing and can be used for both bronzing and highlighting purposes.

You can use first two strips for highlighting and last three for bronzing. You can also use Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar on eyes for bronze eye makeup. Shades are soft & silky with no fall outs or powdery kick off.

Pigmentation – The swatches above are one time swipe of color, I haven’t gone over any of them. Very pigmented, even the lightest shade.

One tip – If you want to tone down the shimmery-ness of highlighter than apply a light layer of matte blush on the top of it. Thats what i have done here, used a light layer of Colorbar Feel The Rain Blush Affair Duo , which is another fav of mine.

Overall Thoughts

I can’t recommend this product enough. The smooth silky non-glittery texture is amazing. Colorbar Bronze Glow Shimmer Bar is a multi purpose product that can be used as a blush, bronzer, highlighter & eyeshadow. The downside for me would be the price but the huge pan of color almost justifies it.
