Color Club Cosmic Fate Halo Hues Nail Polish Review Swatches

Color Club Cosmic Fate Halo Hues Nail Polish for $8 available from Llarowe.com Color Club Cosmic Fate Halo Hues Nail Polish Review Swatches (3)Color Club Cosmic Fate Halo Hues Nail Polish Review Swatches (1)Color Club is a US based company that makes some of the most amazing nail polishes.  In the last year they came out with 2 collections of Holographic nail polishes – 6 polishes each, and a total of 12 absolutely smashing shades.

For a while now, I have been following the different nail trends and am loving the new textures and finishes.  One of my absolute favourites has to be holographic nail colour.  There are two reasons why I love this trend so much.  Firstly, all holos take no time at all to go from bare nails, to all done.  Holographic nail polish dries SUUUUPER fast, and by super-fast, I mean 60 seconds.  It doesn’t need a base coat or top coat and is completely dry in one minute flat!  Isn’t that awesome.  Secondly the colors look really muted and office appropriate in the shade, but the minute you step out in the sun, there are rainbows dancing on your nails.

Cosmic Fate:

Color Club Cosmic Fate is tan leaning towards pale peachy orange with linear holographic shimmer. This polish works as the perfect nude holographic for me.  The amazing part about this polish is that is looks different depending on the type of light and the angle at which the light hits.  It is supposed to be a linear holo – which basically means you will see a smooth rainbow when the light hits it.  (Imagine the shiny metallic gift wrapping papers and you’ll get the idea of what I’m talking about) The bottle shot shows the rainbow effect in the bottle itself. It is absolutely amazing, trust me pictures do not do justice to this beauty. Color Club Cosmic Fate Halo Hues Nail Polish Review Swatches (2)Formula and Application: The formula of Color Club Cosmic Fate is very smooth and feels more watery compared to the other crème finishes.  It goes on very smoothly and like I mentioned earlier, dries completely within one minute.  In a little over 2 to 5 minutes it is completely set and you can pretty much do anything with your hands.   Most holo polish manufacturers suggest you use an aqua base coat to extend the life of your manicure and I find, this does increase the life for most brands, but the Color Club formula doesn’t really need this aqua coat, but you can use it if you have one.  These are not easy to find in India.  Do not use your normal base coat, the polish will go on streaky and come off easily.  Holos are not meant to be used with normal base coats.

You can put a top coat if you like.  When you initially put the top coat, you will find that the holo effect diminishes, but that is only until the top coat dries, then the effect is back completely.

Longevity : One of the major downsides of holo polish is the staying power.  They are notorious for chipping in less than 24 hours.  Color club has one of the best formulae out there and these last on me for 2 to 3 days.  (Others like Layla chip on me in less than 12 hours)

Overall Thoughts

I love having my tips painted and I absolutely love the look that Color Club Cosmic Fate gives me.  It has become one of my top used polishes.   In the pictures, you can clearly see the difference between the effect in the shade and in sunlight.  I find this one really versatile, I can wear it to work and it will look tame, and when I step out in the sun I just can’t stop staring at my nails!

The average wear time is low but for such a beautiful polish, I’m happy to overlook this flaw.  Plus, this is so very easy to use that I don’t really feel bad about taking it off so soon.

For $8, I know, its not everyone’s cup of tea, so here’s hoping that the brands in India hear us and give us some more variety, holos, textures, duo chromes…. One can only hope…

Rating:  4/5

My pictures are all taken with 2 coats of polish.  No base or top coat.

Hey, u don’t get them in India unfortunately, but there are a number of sites which ship internationally. That’s how I got mine. Mind you the shipping costs a pretty penny.
