Clinique True Black Cream Liner Review Swatches EOTD

Never in my dreams I thought of buying a “BLACK” gel liner so soon. But as you have seen my review of Urban Decay Perversion Cream Eyeliner which was the worst purchase made by me last year. I picked Clinique True Black Cream Liner a tried and trusted liner last week. I’m reviewing it quite fast as I have used the same product in different shade and even after 4 years it is still going strong. My earlier Black gel liner which was MAC Blacktrack Fluideline lasted me 3 years and never gave me any moment of regret.

Shade – No 02 True Black, true to its name Clinique True Black Cream Liner  is jet black shade with no shimmer or sheen. Once it sets it is pretty much velvety matte and wonderful to look at. I have high respect for the shade and formula and it happens very less with me.

Packaging – The “MADE IN BELGIUM” gel liner comes in glass tub with silver plastic cap and a small brush for easy touch ups. The brush is tiny and can be helpful if you like thick lines. It doesn’t feel flimsy but the glass tub is not bulky like MAC or Bobbi Brown.

Texture & Formula – Clinique True Black Cream Liner has super soft creamy gel formula and is easy to pick in single dip. I use MAC liner brush and it is easy to pick the product due to creamy nature and it glides so easily and sets pretty in few seconds.

Pigmentation – You can see from swatches here, it is gorgeously pigmented and is opaque in one single swipe.

Staying Power – The liner stays in good condition without fading and smudging for 8 – 9 hrs, the crisp line doesn’t fade easily and needs to be removed with good makeup remover.

Overall Thoughts

Clinique liner comes with a brush and also is very creamy. If you are looking for just black colour then please pick Clinique True Black Cream Liner up next. It is worth every penny and you will never regret it. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about this; I wish they launch more shades like they use to have earlier.
