Scrub is an indispensable part of my skincare routine. I usually exfoliate twice a week and love trying out new scrubs every now and then. Using a scrub ensures that there are no dry patches, dead flaky skin, and gradually refines the texture of the skin as well. I recently visited Clinique Store and picked two skincare products for my dry/ combination and acne prone skin. I have already reviewed Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild which is a great product. Now after testing Clinique Exfoliating Scrub for almost 3 weeks, I am sharing my thoughts.
Scrub comes in a mint green tube and is quite expensive for a 100 ml product. Sales executive recommended it only because of my acne prone skin, as per him I can use it twice a week. However on clinique’s website its mentioned that this product can be used everyday ! which in my opinion would be too much for any skin type because of the texture of this product.
I love scrubs with fine granules that can be felt on the skin. Clinique Exfoliating Scrub has micro granules but they are quite abrasive ! The scrub is quite thick , hence I always apply it on damp face, or dilute it with few drops of water. That way it is easier to use and work with. Particles are quite scratchy so you have to make sure not to put pressure while massaging or else it will irritate the skin. Also I wouldn’t recommend it if you have active breakouts because it will cause pain.
Now coming to the best part, I love how smooth my skin looks and feels after each use. I limit its use to once a week since I don’t go out much and also due to its abrasive texture. This tube should last me atleast 2-3 months since twice a pea size amount is more than enough for my face and neck.
One thing I dislike about this product is that it feels quite minty/ cool on the skin. I find it slightly uncomfortable but some may find it refreshing.

Overall Thoughts
If you love heavy duty scrubs that remove dead skin cells effectively then give Clinique Exfoliating Scrub a shot. Formula makes skin surface smooth and soft.

Sounds a little expensive. But this does sound gritty enough to remove all oil and gunk in summers.
