Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 (Rs 1400 for 200 ml) available at Clinique Stores
I used to think that toner is something only oily skin people need. But yes over the years I have realized the importance of this extra step that ensures cleaning out any residue of makeup/ dirt left on the skin. I bought this at DDML+ launch event when SA demonstrated it on my hand !
I got to know if very late that my skin is acne prone so adding an extra step in cleaning didn’t hurt me. I have been using this product for over 1.6 months now and guess this is the right time to share my experience.Clinique’s 3 step skincare system is pretty famous and needs no introduction. It includes cleaning, exfoliating and moisturizing. 3 step system has 4 variants meant for different skintypes and I was matched to Skin Type 2 (Dry combination skin).
What Clinique Says about Clarifying Lotion 2
Helps clear away pollution, dulling flakes for smooth, glowing skin. Helps pores look their smallest. Skin accepts moisture better. Grows more resistant to impurities. Stays healthier, younger. Dermatologist-reformulated to be comfortable, non-drying.
The Product
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 is a colourless toner with very strong smell of alcohol. Its so strong that it blocks my nose for sometime whenever I apply it. I stay at home so only use it during night time skincare routine after thoroughly cleansing my face. It feels cool and soothing on skin. The formula is non drying and leaves skin refreshed !
My Experience
My skin is prone to congestion and break outs, specially white heads. I thought that since Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 is an exfoliating toner, it might help in unclogging pores and reduce acne or white heads to some extent, but after using it daily for over 6 weeks I haven’t seen it doing much in that area. I still see those dry flakes once in a while around my nose and I have to rush to my Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion +. So all in all this product hasn’t done anything exceptional for my skin so far that any other affordable toner wouldn’t do. I used to apply rose water before this one and it worked equally good !
I wouldn’t repurchase Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 and would either buy a toner that targets acne prone skin or something that works for dry skin. Also its pretty expensive for not doing anything great ! For me Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2 is an average product.

I agree it’s an average product. Every time after using this lotion, my face feel so dry, although i have an oily type of skin. And it smells very pungent like alcohol.

The smell turns me off :/
