Clarins Instant Smooth Mousse Foundation (Rs 1800) available on medplus.com
Shade: I am going to review the shade “golden beige” which is a yellow based foundation as the name suggests. There are around d 9-10 shades but I went for this one because it was the most yellow-based foundation in this range and it suited my medium complexion. It looks natural even when layered.
Texture & Formula – Clarins Instant Smooth foundation has whipped creamy texture and its little thick as expected being a mousse foundation. But due to the creamy texture, it spreads across skin very well using fingers or a brush. It blends easily with fingers and melts completely into skin without looking patchy. With foundation brush, blend it in downward motion to achieve air-brush finish. The texture is thick but it feels light on skin as it melts without sitting on your skin. It gives semi-matte finish and it needs to be powdered as it tends to make t-zone shiny. It covers my large pores on my nose and cheeks giving me flawless pore-less finish as claimed. This foundation doesn’t have SPF so it photographs well without making your face white.
Coverage – This foundation gives medium coverage but it’s buildable as it doesn’t look cakey even when layered. So, this foundation can be your best friend on bad skin days. It covers pigmentation, blemishes, and marks and hides dark circles to a great extent. I have light dark circles so I don’t feel the need to use a concealer after applying this foundation.
Staying power – Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation is a long wearing base. I put it on my face in the morning around 9am and it stays the same in the evening around 5pm. So, it stays for 8-9 hours easily in hot Delhi climate which according to me is commendable. It’s water-proof so if you are someone who sweats a lot then this is a good option. It doesn’t look patchy with sweat.
Overall Thoughts–
Clarins Instant Smooth Foundation-Golden Beige is a great natural looking foundation which hides all your flaws in just single swipe and gives you air-brushed look. The texture is smooth which blends easily with fingers without looking patchy. The staying power is also commendable and the formula is amazing which makes it suitable for all skin types. The price is on the higher side but it’s worth trying as it’s a high-quality foundation and I think you should definitely invest in a good makeup base.

I always thought this foundation would be too creamy and heavy for combination skin. But after reading the review, I feel I should try it out.
